    Default Project Restoration / Modification / Up gradation Toyota BJ40 (o---o) 1967.

Here you go guys, My recent acquisition of Army Retired 1967 Toyota FJ40, currently with a hilux diesel motor matted with 4x4 SSR gear box.

Plan is to keep the current engine for a while till the body works gets completed, including roll cage installation, front & rear bull bars, big foot, seats, Snorkel, etc then the motor will be, either replaced with ledendry Toyota 13BT diesel or an Iconic Toyota 3B diesel with a H55F 5Fwd Manual Gear Box.

Latest of yesterday, after final installation of engine mounts, gear box mount and power pump installation:

the power pump position yet need to be re attended as it seems that its too close to front diff and might hit the diff in big bumps, but the engine level is great and its nicely aligned in all directions:

I am glad you didn't waste time and money in 2F.
If you don't mind please pm me for 3b and 5 fwd price and source.

    Regards,
Thank you sir - you are right that I haven't wasted time in building 2F but unfortunately i was a little more (i would not say stupid ) inexperient that i built Toyota L (2200cc diesel) engine for it

which obviously had to thrown away after its first road test was seriously under powered actually.

3B was not available anywhere in lahore but eventually after a quest of one month, i was lucky to find a junkyard owner in bilal gunj who was about to cut an accidented bj73/74 and agreed to sell its engine and gear to me so i got them from him

    PMed you the purchase price

Boss i am pushing hard to get her on road for a test drive by the end of this month so that i can at least taste the new engine and tranny - As far as completion of project is concerned yet there is a long wish list to be done

You might get a chance to ride her if you are coming here by the end of this month.

    Default Paint Preparations

Todays status - Paint ground is being prepared for newly fabricated roll cage, doors and bull bars.

Engine is also ready and teasted without a test run - New dilemma is either to keep the electronics on 24 or at 12 Volts - Though both self starters / alternators are available in stash but seems that we'll have to convert it to a 24volt set up as the existing 12volt battery (despite new and of 100amps pwer) seems little under powered for self starter.

    Color Decision:

    Roll Cage: Yellow
    Seats Foundation Cage: Yellow.
    Half Doors: Yellow
Front & Rear Bull Bars: Metallic Silver Grey.
Jerry Cane & Bracket: Metallic Silver Grey.
Head Lights Grill: Metallic Silver Grey.
Side Foot Boards: Metallic Silver Grey.
Glove Compartment & Speedo Meter: Metallic Silver Grey.
Side Mirrors Bars: Metallic Silver Grey.
