Default Jeep chrysler islamabad

    Hello,

I´m new on this forum and hope you can help me.

Friends of mine drive with their Jeep Wrangler (registered in Germany) from Russia to Islamabad in Juli 2011.

They want to fly back to Germany end July and would like to come back in 3 or 6 months, if the car can stay this long time in Pakistan. They would like to drive at the end of this year from Pakistan to Africa, but they don´t know now, when they can start their next trip (they would like to drive a "Worldtour" with this Jeep).

They need a Jeep/Chrysler Servicecenter or other good Workshop, where the Jeep can get a service and possibly repairwork.
Do you know, which Company I can contact (phone, e-mail, complete address)?

Knows someone, how long it is possible to “stay” (the car) in Pakistan (Islamabad)?

They also need a safe place, where they can “storage” the Jeep for 3-6 months (if possible in the Servicecenter/Workshop).
Knows someone, where I can find a person, which has the possibilities to storage the jeep?

They have a Carnet de Passages en Douane for the Jeep. I want to ask the Automobile Association of Pakistan, if something is to clear before my friends start the trip, but I get no contact to them. All my e-mails to AAP come back (failed). Knows anyone the correct adress, phone and e-mail?

    Please answer asap!

    Thank you all!

Hi Schoki76, welcome to the forum, you can contact the 'Islamabad Jeep Club' people for more information on service center or location to park your jeep. they are the premier jeep club based in Islamabad.

    Schoki76,
Welcome to Pakwheels and thank you for your query. First of all, I would like to appreciate the spirit of your team on planning this ambitious adventure! I am sure that myself and all other Pakwheels members would be pleased encourage and support you to the extent possible. I understand that you (or some of your team members) have already contacted the Islamabad Jeep Club and we are looking into the possibilities for parking the car etc..... I am sure you will receive a response and that something can be worked out!

On the service and repairs, there isn't any Jeep/Chrysler dealership/agent in Pakistan. We primarly have decent Toyota repair centres in most major cities and they should have the necessary expertise to look into any emergency services and repairs that you may need on the car. You will also be able to find decent mechanics for Wranglers at smaller workshops in most cities here and we can probsbly get you a list of places along your route... While stricly speaking the Jeep's OBDII electronics may be a problem area except for a handful of workshops around the country, I somehow don't see this as a major issue. Also parts availability for Wranglers may be tricky except in Quetta area which has plenty of Wranglers and second hand parts.

Anyways, guess what I am trying to say is that, on the parking and mechanics, between PW and IJC, something can surely be worked out....

    All the Best,
    SK
