Default Help reqd (4X4 with 1N diesel engine)

I am hoping to get a willy jeep.It has 1N diesel engine(1500cc) and it is 4X2. Is it possible to install 4X4 in this jeep and how much would it cost and what other alterations I have to do.

    Many Thanks

Difficult to say what exactly it would take and how much would it cost. Normally when you have a old Jeep for sale and the owner says its 4x4 is not working and its just a matter of doing this and that little thing, its not good news. If it was a cheap fix the owner would have had it done before putting it up for sale. Normally it turns out to be an expensive deal to get the 4x4 working again (changing front diff, shafts and transfer case are all possible). You should either get a mechanic or an expert to examine the vehicle and give you a rough estimate or factor in 40-50k for the 4x4 to be made operational....

    All the best!

40-50k, ok thanks suhaib. I just wanted to have a rough idea in order to give a suitable offer, and secondly the seller was saying that I have to get a bit more powerful engine to work with 4X4. Obviously the bigger the better but my concern is it compulsory to change the engine or its just an option to get better performance.
