    Default Cholistan 2010 Video

A valiant effort in compiling the thread! Thought it would be nice to share this Cholistan video which has been inspirational to say the least. Not sure who compiled it (or why they went about it this particular way!) but nevertheless, the shots of the various cars (a lot of which look very familiar by now!) and the crowd enthusiasm and comments make me come back and watch it from time to time!

I did a bit of research on the set-up Nadir magsi is using in his tundra.
of course as per me the winning combo is 50% vehicle and 50% driver but still for the sake of information.

total chaos long travel suspension and extended 4x4 axels

    its moded by DMZfab company
DMZ front bumper with 3 lights
    DMZ front bypass shock mounts
    fiberglass fenders and bed
DMZ custom bedcage and boxed frame with 16" 3.0 3 tube bypass shocks

DMZ rear under leaf spring kit

well this is my nearest guess to the setup is

    Sounds about right! Good Job
The front does seem to be Total Chaos long travel + Fox + Coilovers. At the rear, I believe, the custom rear Deaver leaf springs do away with the loading type charcteristics of stock leafs and SUA helps increase uptravel. Rear tension shackle setup (ones that stand upright as opposed to hang down in normal position) help the back squat down low on acceleration (like a German Shepherd ). All in all, from what little I know, its a very nicely setup car and as such does not seem to be obnoxiously pricey either.

sk, i must say after watching your stage 2 vid i salute you on your guts and determination to pull this off especially considering the disadvantage of your steering setup...in contrast the evo seems to be floating/ gliding ... btw what happened around the 16:30 mark when u guys stopped?

Thanks @YasirAG for your appreciation and kind words! Some more glidin' Evo and jumpin' Jeevo for you:

Again Many thanks to Saidhi and Buttar for sharing their Go Pro footage.

BTW the cam on the Concordia is set much higher (behind rearview mirror) and makes the bumps and jumps seem even more dramatic than the low cam on the Evo. And our fuel supply pipe came off at 16:30 and we lost a few minutes fixing that, whether it had anything to do with cheap desi fittings, the buja/bush hit slightly earlier or just a result of the relentless bashing I am not sure...

Thats right, Mehrab Khan was one of the two persons who wanted to enter their Jimny in D-Category but were not allowed by the technical team of TDCP.

Mehrab than competed in C-Category and the other fellow Gohar Sanghi boycotted the rally

Oh wow! Its a story and a half in that case:

    - TDCP bumps two Jimnys to Category C because of "engine tampering"
    - Mehmood Majeed forcefully and conclusively defends the TDCP action at the driver's meeting.
    - Bumped up Jimny takes away Mehmood Sb. podium position by a minute and a half and leaves some of the best prepped cars and most experienced drivers looking on

This car was actually just behind us at the Midbreak, and it was lightning fast from what we saw. Not only did it a mere 25 minutes to overtake us coming into the second CP from there on we could see it flying away from us both on the on the twisty tracks and then a straight run. I could never figure out which one it was in the rankings and only assumed that it had broken down. Now its somewhat comforting to see that it was actually very very fast, registering times faster than some of the Evos.

on the subject of jugars, are cv axles found on most of our 4x4s hollow or solid? either way has anyone attempted to lengthen them to increase track width with any success?
