Thumbs up Frontier4x4club Snow Cross Rally 2012 Malam Jaba Swat

By the grace of Allah all Frontier 4x4 Club members are back safe and sound .
We started at 7:30am from Peshawar's toll plaza and reached Swat at 2:30 pm.There Ajab9007 and his friend were waiting for us.We took a new by pass which saved a lot of our time which we could have wasted in Mingora Main Bazar traffic. We had our lunch in cottage restaurant on by pass road near Swat river surrounded by snow covered hill tops , the view was breath taking. We refueled our vehicles in Caltax which is to the right side of the by pass exit, it has good reputation of fuels and gauges ,then we started off for Malam jaba which is like 45 min drive from Mingora but keeping 18 4x4's in mind it took us almost 2:30 hours to reach our hotel. We had a bonfire and after bonfire we put chains on our 4x4's tires at night and made our selves ready for tomorrow's rally .
We started early, BK (Frontier4x4club Chairman) took the lead as his machine(RKR) really showed its self in this rally followed by Asad Sethi's machine(Black Wrangler) driven partially by him and aark30 (Khizer hayat) then bj60 Malik Asghar which came 2nd runner up, followed by Ajab9007 but as he came down the track ,he had hardly moved 50 meter when his machine broke three snow chains and he got stuck in such a place that a human couldn't cross it, thinking of any thing else was impossible. Ajab's prado stucked at that moment when all Tigers of Frontier 4x4 Club were 1 km inside the track so no MAN was there to winch him out at that moment. It blocked the track for other vehicles and most anthusiast members especially Imran's beloved Mutt couldnt make her way to the track, digged by BKyousafzai. It was almost 2 km track and it took us 5 hours to reach our summit. In the last climb BK broke his 2 snow chains. The summit was like 4o meters away and it took all his energy but Salute to his energy level that he made it ,followed by aark30 and Asad Sethi in Wrangler.aark30 gathered his last energy reserves and put it on gas which resulted in over heating the wrangler engine on summit which was i think the first time that someone got engine over heated in 4 feet snow. Then came the bj 60 malik Asghar saab.A local guy followed us but his energy level gave up on the last hill climb so he returned back from there. On our way back aark30's machine was left at the back as a recovery vehicle which really paid off by pulling Ajab9007's Prado back with it's mechanical winch.

Special thanks to our sponsors Mobilink and Red Bull for their support.

Problem's in our Adventure.
when we reached toll plaza Peshawar we sent Imran with his mutt early so he can cross the motorway early making it easy for us to cross it in good speed but as usual after 5 minutes a call came that the mutt has stoped and the generator has stopped working some where near charsda interchange, hatts off to imran ,his second call came from mardan saying that the mutt has over heated, its fan belt is in two pieces and the generator has jammed. At this time we were near mardan as BK was leading the convoy and arrk30 was at the end taking care of all the old veterans but thanks to BK's personal 4x4 mechanic Jhangir ustad who was with aark30 in the end, 30 min away from where the mutt was on the road .

On the way to malam jaba black ice made us very slow because most of the guys were unaware and the vehicle coming from the top literally stopped us for good 20 to 30 min backing 18 4x4 on thin strip, letting this one vehicle to pass by was a big problem.

Bk's rkc broke the front left axle when it hit the rock hidden beneath the snow in mid speed on hill climb practice in snow .

Asad sethi's
wrangler got over heated in 3.5 feet snow by aark30 as literately dragged it self toward the summit.

Precautionary Measures
.
1. Always leave a fit recovery vehicle with winch (mechanical winch recommended) at the back on road (as aark30 rkr was in this rally).

2.Mob batteries should be kept full.

3. Avoid swithching off your vehicle as you never know wether it will start or not again

4.Tools make a big difference. You should have your own tools as we had them but in hand of a learned guy(Jhangir ustad). It saved our time and one can rise a bar of risk during a rally. rkc was also put on track by jhangir ustad on the same day.Hats off to this guy that in mid of snow on helipad in malam jaba he worked there till 11.30pm in rkc surrounded by the lights of three Frontier 4x4 club 4x4s

As a layman and as a non-member of any 4x4 clubs in Pakistan, I would like to heave some light on the misperception of whether it was the first snow rally of Pakistan or not.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
As you mentioned that 4x4 engaged has done it before, yes it might be true and before you, there must be many others who might have done it…BUT who know about it. At least I never knew anything of such a caliber and size. This event was covered by almost all the leading News channels and newspapers and a huge number of masses around the country saw it happened. Adding to the spice Mobilink Jazba and Red Bull couldn’t miss it.
There are different racing and events in 4X4 world. Not every event is counted as rally and as far as I know rally have a different theme and style, I would say this snow cross, rather than confusing it with time and laps. Crossing such a mammoth mountain of snow "only once", it is a biggest achievement. Your event might be more difficult and more hard but this was something which I’ve never seen anywhere in the world. 3.5ft means it was almost a grave’s size and yes it was truly a grave for all the machines that’s why many have backed out after only seeing it.
A big salute to Babar,Asad, Malik sb, Khizar,Ajab, and the white single cabin who jumped into the most daring adventure of their lives. It would be good if we do not compare the two events, because there was a huge difference in the terrain and conditions as I watched both the event’s pics and videos.
I think and its my own perception that other clubs should come up to beat the event's size and the cause it had. or in the next Malam Jabba event clubs should come and have a one by one competition with the existing position holders.

knock knock bro who said that our rides are the best and we are not comparing our rides, drivers to any other clubs.........AND if you can read the title of the previous thread saying All PAKISTAN... so IF its all pakistan then it is the first snow rally through out Pakistan and we all know that IJC/4x4 engaged are the leading clubs all over Pakistan.

Dear bro, who said or claimed that this was first snow cross at malamjabba, but it was the media, as media for the first captured such event( bec of the grand nature of the event). IJC is the grand daddy and pioneer of 4X4 club in pk, we hav arranged some joint events. There's is no one like Aamir Bhai, shabab, nomi, nn etc. 4X4 engaged is also our friends, saqib bhai is source of inspiration and hope for a joint event in future. So there is no comparison in events, just the media said its first ever event and we didn't say anything like this. We r not in competition with any club and just want to promote soft image of pak and tourism in pak. So bro don't create misunderstanding among us.

yes we were told by the locals that last year you guys had a rally on same track but on 6 to 7 inches of snow and they warned us that now is 3.5 feet and you guys will stuck and wont make it either way but we thought that we should raise the Bar from 6 to 7 inches to 3.5 feet so Alhamdullila we raised the bar ... yes we remember BK with his fully loaded G wagon whose 4x4 stop working and was left behind and sat with Ajab9007....
and yes we enjoyed the trip like any thing and we missed every buddy especially you and IJC guys .
Frontier 4x4 club is a new club born 6 months back while Ijc/4x4 engaged are quite old and reputable clubs.i am not trying to create misunderstanding among clubs but other clubs should not be dishonoured.your smokesman in the above statement is showing some strange attitude like somebody was left back and previous malam jabba snow rally was a topi drama infront of us.

Hi guys really enjoyed the pics & videos, good going Frontier 4X4. who is best and who is not or who did the first snow rally or who did the second, it does't really matter, we are all offroaders and belong to same cult and as far 4x4 engage point lets put the record straight "4x4 Engage was the first off roading club who arranged the first snow rally, and they are the first who arranged the night mud rally" although i m my self proud IJCians, i wish we would have done it first but again we are the first one who started the trend of snow cross & summer camp, and now they are our regular yearly events but frontier 4x4 are the first one who managed to have a rally in 3 feet of snow and Veena malik is the first pakistani gal who posed nude in Indian mag & she is very proud of it, so guys trophy goes to Veena Malik
Life is short, lets go Off Roading!!!
