By the grace of Allah all Frontier 4x4 Club members are back safe and sound .
We started at 7:30am from Peshawar's toll plaza and reached Swat at 2:30 pm.There Ajab9007 and his friend were waiting for us.We took a new by pass which saved a lot of our time which we could have wasted in Mingora Main Bazar traffic. We had our lunch in cottage restaurant on by pass road near Swat river surrounded by snow covered hill tops , the view was breath taking. We refueled our vehicles in Caltax which is to the right side of the by pass exit, it has good reputation of fuels and gauges ,then we started off for Malam jaba which is like 45 min drive from Mingora but keeping 18 4x4's in mind it took us almost 2:30 hours to reach our hotel. We had a bonfire and after bonfire we put chains on our 4x4's tires at night and made our selves ready for tomorrow's rally .
We started early, BK (Frontier4x4club Chairman) took the lead as his machine(RKR) really showed its self in this rally followed by Asad Sethi's machine(Black Wrangler) driven partially by him and aark30 (Khizer hayat) then bj60 Malik Asghar which came 2nd runner up, followed by Ajab9007 but as he came down the track ,he had hardly moved 50 meter when his machine broke three snow chains and he got stuck in such a place that a human couldn't cross it, thinking of any thing else was impossible. Ajab's prado stucked at that moment when all Tigers of Frontier 4x4 Club were 1 km inside the track so no MAN was there to winch him out at that moment. It blocked the track for other vehicles and most anthusiast members especially Imran's beloved Mutt couldnt make her way to the track, digged by BKyousafzai. It was almost 2 km track and it took us 5 hours to reach our summit. In the last climb BK broke his 2 snow chains. The summit was like 4o meters away and it took all his energy but Salute to his energy level that he made it ,followed by aark30 and Asad Sethi in Wrangler.aark30 gathered his last energy reserves and put it on gas which resulted in over heating the wrangler engine on summit which was i think the first time that someone got engine over heated in 4 feet snow. Then came the bj 60 malik Asghar saab.A local guy followed us but his energy level gave up on the last hill climb so he returned back from there. On our way back aark30's machine was left at the back as a recovery vehicle which really paid off by pulling Ajab9007's Prado back with it's mechanical winch.
Special thanks to our sponsors Mobilink and Red Bull for their support.
Problem's in our Adventure.
when we reached toll plaza Peshawar we sent Imran with his mutt early so he can cross the motorway early making it easy for us to cross it in good speed but as usual after 5 minutes a call came that the mutt has stoped and the generator has stopped working some where near charsda interchange, hatts off to imran ,his second call came from mardan saying that the mutt has over heated, its fan belt is in two pieces and the generator has jammed. At this time we were near mardan as BK was leading the convoy and arrk30 was at the end taking care of all the old veterans but thanks to BK's personal 4x4 mechanic Jhangir ustad who was with aark30 in the end, 30 min away from where the mutt was on the road .
On the way to malam jaba black ice made us very slow because most of the guys were unaware and the vehicle coming from the top literally stopped us for good 20 to 30 min backing 18 4x4 on thin strip, letting this one vehicle to pass by was a big problem.
Bk's rkc broke the front left axle when it hit the rock hidden beneath the snow in mid speed on hill climb practice in snow .
Asad sethi's wrangler got over heated in 3.5 feet snow by aark30 as literately dragged it self toward the summit.
Precautionary Measures .
1. Always leave a fit recovery vehicle with winch (mechanical winch recommended) at the back on road (as aark30 rkr was in this rally).
2.Mob batteries should be kept full.
3. Avoid swithching off your vehicle as you never know wether it will start or not again
4.Tools make a big difference. You should have your own tools as we had them but in hand of a learned guy(Jhangir ustad). It saved our time and one can rise a bar of risk during a rally. rkc was also put on track by jhangir ustad on the same day.Hats off to this guy that in mid of snow on helipad in malam jaba he worked there till 11.30pm in rkc surrounded by the lights of three Frontier 4x4 club 4x4s
