Default Land Cruiser 80 Series - Price?

    Hi everyone,
I am looking to get a 80 series LC this year and wanted your feedback and price estimates for what i should expect to get it for.

    - preferably someone who got it from an Embassy.
    - Good condition.
    - Basic model ( non turbo no gadgets)
    - Around the 1991 model would be preferable.

Embassy auctined or embassy owned one i would say is the most important since i would know its not a rebuild.

    Your input would be appreciated.

    My advice..
Go for a 93 to 95 model cruiser.
look for a vx limited or london model gx.
diff are very important if u go off roading.
Best and simplest engine will be 1Hd-t. 12 valve as most people call it.
Hdj81 are japan import and HDJ80 are no japan import.
Body change engine change are very common check paper work with lab report of chassis and tikkie in the engine bay area.
It is always better to buy a good condition cruiser and spend a little on it rather buying a cheap cruiser and spending loads on it . Know as i have been through both.

    A good 91 to 95 should cost u anywhere between 13 and 18.

Thanks for the information....what about simple stock models...the ones the UN auctions or Embassies auction....i would just require a basic model 80...replace its suspension..simple non turbo engine ..Diesel ......nothing fancy just a simple cruiser...
Are they very tough to find...my budget is between 13-16...plus i guess i would expect to spend 2-3 more if i get something in the 13 range...

    Any further thoughts?

Well the problem with basic models is that people buy them and transplant later model cruisers on it . If u are lucky enuff to find one it should be in range of 10 to 12 for a 91-93 model one. Try to get one from auction that way it will cost u less and u will get genuine rig.

Wondering why people are asking 21 to 30 for multivalue 1996-7 models ? Is it worth it or over priced?

Secondly almost all 91 to 95 models i see people asking from 10.5 to 16. So its well within your budget.

Bad part about auctioned vehicles is that they are no turbo, manual transmission and dull white color thats a turn off atleast for me

a good multivalve should cost u around 20 bcs its got a better engine, abs, newer dash, newer and fuller bumpers, bigger disk brakes, better suspension and also most of them are vx limited with full options.
Auctioned rigs from embassies are a good buy but custom auction rigs are very roughly used tampered and most of them are bought and 2 to 3 behicles are registered on these papers in different provinces thus people avoid them thus being cheap.

You are better off buying a vx limited japan import 93 /94 cruiser that will fit perfectly in your budget.

Thanks guys ..gives me a really good idea about prices and differences. I dont mind the basic engine and the white colour...i just need a simple solid machine that gets me there and gets the job done...will replace the suspension with Old Man Emu and ARB accesories...so if i get a basic model at a decent price i wouldnt mind..on the other hand if i get a vx limited japan import 93 /94 in good condition...that would be the best option i would say...but i guess its all about the condition of the jeep.

Thanks for the reference..i dont mind not having a sunroof etc...even a basic one in good condition would do..less features = less things to go wrong !...colour etc dont matter either.
One more thing that i have seen with LC80....the suspension seems to sag over time...is this common ?

i never noticed that in my previous and current lc 80,, cant tell about others,, but u can easily feel the bad suspension upon test drive,, pls enquire market prices for lc 80 coil springs as they wont be cheap. and plz plz get a lab test before buying either a private owned or custom auctioned vehicle, i was once about to buy a custom auctioned cruiser for very cheap price( it was 92 model lexus in 80 series shape, black colour, islambad registered, wooden interior, 7 leather seats, sunroof, cool box and many more for just 11 lacs), but inspite the fact it was custom auctioned its chasis number was found tempered, thnx to ALLAH i did that step before the final payment.
