To my mind, the ultimate rally car would be something like the 4405 that is a partner car to Suhaib's Concordia.
Everything about that vehicle simply screams function over form. The stance, the lack of creature comforts, even the simple fact that it's a "naked" vehicle; where almost ALL the mechanical parts are open to inspection/intervention/introspection makes it very very appealing, indeed.
Now, I reckon that a machine like that would've cost a bazillion dollars in California. My point, however, is that its rivals would be equally-if-not-more-expensive custom built rigs. Things which we take for granted in Pakistan (custom fabrication, the ability to mix and match performance parts) are very costly things abroad.
Perhaps the artisans of City Sadar Road need to be prodded into making some such machine. A mixture of the tried and the unproven. A combination of the time-honoured and the unexperimented. By cutting down completely on aesthetics and ergonomics, one would be (theoretically) able to spend optimal time, energy, and resources on performance...which (it's my belief) is the very underpinning of a vehicle like the 4405.
Like I said...it'd be one sublime rebuild experience!
