    Thumbs up My new 4x4

    Aoa brothers,

After the departure of my Toyota Land Cruiser BJ60, it was time to go hunt for something that would be even more exciting, powerful and of course, leave me broke every month but thats all part of the madness.

Say hello to my 1990 Nissan Patrol Y60. Has a naturally aspirated 4200cc TD42. Runs like wildfire!
    Some pics attached.
    Enjoy!

I am also saving to buy a 4x4 in March 2013 but i think i wont be able to afford the running cost of this BEAST so i would probably be going for a Mitsu... but please do share your experience regarding parts availability, fuel consumption and other recurring expenses, if any and i might change my mind.... Again... Buhat buhat mubarak!!!
Yes you are right about the BEAST bit. Parts are tough to find but not impossible. In Pindi there is Kiani Autos and in Peshawar it is relatively easier to find parts.
As for your future 4x4, I hope you find something great in your budget soon. I'll share my experience with you quickly:

    - My first 4x4 was a 1986 Range Rover with a 1kz engine. It was a terrible machine and I lost a lot of money on it. And today it is for sale for 440,000 in Pindi on OLX.

    - Then the 4x4 gods had mercy on me and I got my 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ60 which was a great machine and served me well for 3 years.

    - Today I own a 1990 Nissan Patrol

So you see, unless you're filthy rich, it takes time to get a great machine. Im sure you will find your journey just as fun as mine was/is...
    Good Luck!

    @hayzin

MA very clean ride and the mods u plan will definitely make it one of its kind. My father used to have low roof NP (official) for something like a decade . Never seen it break down and the last time i had a look at its odo, its mileage was 550k km with the (original/never overhauled) engine not consuming any oil.

    MASHALLAH!
    Congratulations!!
I ONLY LOVE the Hi-ROOF version just like u got. Some ppl only like Lo-roof. It depends but hi-roof is best as its meant to be a SUV
The Nissan Safari is truly for a REAL Monster for a Real SUV lover, having power & curvy looks/style, both together.
Only the problematic thing with this SUV is PARTS!
Very few people deal in Safari Parts & they've made their monopoly, sellin' them very expensive!
& sometimes even not available, but sometimes they have it but the dealer will say like that to get more money from you.
besides, if u have Credit/Debit Card you can ONLINE shop them without hesitation & tension!!
But shipping/handling/VAT they all cost money money & more money!! plus increasing price of Diesel is another surplus!

    Salams and Congrats Man,

Masha Allah a very nice clean ride. Am sure you've got several mods planned

On of the salvage parts dealer (i forgot the name, its not Khalid Autos but the other one) on the IJP road recently received many half cuts and i saw a couple of half cut Nissan's. You may find something useful there.

    @ALL

Thanks everyone. Mods planned are quite a few. Just to start off I've installed the Bridgestone Tyres and rims that you can see in the pics. The 33's are always welcome, the only problem is finding them. Other than that the list is long:

    - Winch
    - Snorkel (goes on left side not driver side)
    - Fender flares
    - Rock siders
    - Roof rack with lights (will be custom made to size)
    - Dog guard (will be custom made to size)
    - Jerry can
    - Hard Plastic mud flaps
    - K&N air intake
    - CD player
    - Steering change to newer one (brown color)

These are some of the things I would like to get done ASAP so if anyone has any of these items for sale, please get in touch with me on my mobile 03012481009.

Once again, thank you all for your comments and good wishes The next time I post pics of my NP, there will be a big difference between now and then.
    Cheers.
