    Default Quadra-Lift

The Quadra-Lift air suspension system (for 4x4 only) has five height settings, two for off-road use (raising 1.3 and 2.6 inches above normal, to a maximum 11.1 inches of ground clearance), “aero” (lowering .5 inches for aerodynamics at speed), and entry/exit, which lowers the car by 1.5 inches. Quadra-Lift operates four-corner air springs automatically, or via console controls; the Aero control is automatic and speed-controlled.

If you had asked me about an old bust a#$ bug ... it would have been a lot easier for me to elaborate ... hehehe

as far as i know .. it was (may be still is) being maintained in its original specs ... the owner ... well he had huge plans ... of starting his own assembly line of cheap affordable rides in pakistan ... aahhh well but was having some approval issues and duty on parts issues ....

i have seen this truck run ... and it made its own track and literally unstoppable .. the owner has it on his fruit farms near lahore

the above does not explain anything u asked for .. so ...errrmmmm ....

Default Ray Russell Jeep CJ-7 Desert Race Jeep Photos

I just recieved a great email from a gentleman by the name of Brad Russell. Brad is the son of Ray Russell, who raced a Jeep CJ-7 in the 70’s and early 80’s. I can remember reading about Ray in the magazines when I was a kid. From what I remember, he almost dominated his class (modified 4×4) in the 70’s and had some great battles with Don Adams later on in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Brad, thank you for the email and photos that you sent me. <!-- Quick Adsense Wordpress Plugin: Quick Adsense | Tech Milieu -->

I am sad to say that Brad tells me that his dad passed away on May 2, 2007. What can you remember about Ray? Anyone have some good stories? Feel free to leave comments below.
    Godspeed Ray.

    Arrow Be aware of bushes

Not only are dirt roads less maintened than paved roads - rarely ever are bushes cut back. Since everything grows very slowly in the desert the wood of any bush is extremely hard and produces nasty scratches on your paint - see image below. Folding back your mirror is a good first step.
As a general rule, it is best to stay as close to the road limitations on the driver's side.

    Accident Avoidance

During extreme steering maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer. The system automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course.
Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) uses innovative motion sensors that determine when a rollover may occur and applies braking force to the correct wheel or wheels to reduce the likelihood of such an accident.
    Other accident avoidance features include:

    • All-Speed Traction Control with special calibrations for driving in 4WD 4LO. Applies the brakes more aggressively and for longer duration than traction control.
    • Antilock Brake System (ABS) with a unique rough road detection system
    • Brake assist system, which applies maximum braking power during panic braking
    • Multiple available four-wheel drive systems

    ESC OFF
When you don't want the extra hand, Electronic Stability Control[1] (ESC) is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off. In addition, All-Speed Traction Control works in tandem with the ESC. It has a special set of calibrations specifically for driving in 4WD 4LO. To help crawl over obstacles and during heavy articulation activity, it applies the brakes more aggressively and for longer duration than traction control
