Default Need Advice about 1 KZ Turbo Disel Pump.

I just bought Prado 1997 TZ, 1KZ Turbo. I like to keep my Jeeps in perfect conditions. Changed all suspension, shocks, All oils, Belts, Breaks with drums, all orginal Toyota parts.

Today I got it checked by 2 most experts Pump mechinics in Lahore and both said that the disel pump needs to be repaired and will cost around 15,000.00. Above is needed as they say the jeep does not have good pick.

Though the jeep gives no smoke at all and for me (I am driving 1KZ first time) the pick is good but my sons says it is not as good as 1KZ Turbo should give.

Please I need advice should I get the pump repaired as I am afraid after once the pump is repaired it may give smoke or it will not to the mark of orginal pump.

Experts please advice should the disel pump be repaired or not.

    Thanks

asad sethi frontier 4x4 club repaired his 97 diesel pump few days back from shoba bazar peshawar for 15k( 15000 is ok)...symptoms were the same as yours .....btw you are not left with any other choice....repair=cheap(u can get good results),change=costly(and if you buy a kabali one so you dont know about the condition)
and if you repair it from a good mechanic i think smoke will not be an issue

First of thanks to all. After consulting few off roaders I have also decided to get it repaired as pump is very imp and if I dont my Turbo will be gone too.

Sir new pump cost less than 40,000.00 I changed 4 wheel drums with disc hand brake, all suspension bushes ball joints and all ends, power steering rack and one side axle (Kabli), all shocks, shafts repaired, all belts including timing belt and adjuster pully, power pump kit, gear 4X4 and diff oils, engine and gear mounts. Cant remember any other thing. All above where geniune Toyota and not Japani parts only Kabli are written above and 4 wheel drums were Japani and that too on gurrentee of parts shop owner. Total parts cost was 225,000.00. Now she drives and breaks like brand new.
