Thread: Land cruiser Auto gear getting very hot

    Default Land cruiser Auto gear getting very hot

    Hi Friends

    Recently I swapped my Land cruiser 92 London Model engine to 24 valve 1FZ-FE with Auto gear A442.
    Still mechanics are working on it. Today I go to a try and observed the gear lever and console is getting very hot with out AC. There is no warning light for A/T getting hot. Is it normal ?
    Please help me out before I accept the car and pay the money.
    I am trying to restore the car to a upper model like 97.

    You dont need a seperate Oil Cooler, just get a Toyota 80 series radiator in perfect shape (the auto transmission version) and clean transmission cooling lines with no bends and cloggs. Also make sure that the thick rubbers behind gear lever assembly is properly attached. It provides heat resistance from undercarrige and sound insulation. Also check if the gear shifting is ok on all gears and kickdown.

    yes the problem is with the Radiator. I am looking for a good price radiator now.
    In the market I saw like a brand new but kabaria is asking 25K. Any idea for the price? please advice

    25k is slightly higher IMO.
    Keep a cool head and wear seatbelts!

    20-25k is good price for genuine clean condition radiator. Just install it and see if it helps. Don't waste your energy on 1-2k cheaper radiator, fix your car! The radiator is getting rare as the vehicle is too old.

    Hi Guys!

    Without starting a new thread let me first see if this helps... Is it a good idea to change LC80 '97 from 5 speed manual to auto transmission. I am thinking about the conversion. Please let me know
