My Pajero is currently powered by 4D56 turbo inter-cooler version of engine (all stock).
1: Can I swap 6G72 DOHC (engine is probably from a mitsubishi GTO car) in my Gen1 Pajero? offcourse I mean is it bolt on and without any major modifications in engine foundations and mounts etc?.
2: does this engine couple with existing gearbox or any modification in bellhousing or in anyother thing will be required?
3: I have seen Pajeros with 6g72 SOHC and that engine looks quite different in appearance; is there any major difference in DOHC version other than head?
4: Yes, I know alterations in air intake, exhaust, radiator etc will required under the bonnet...is there anyother thing which is not doable?
5: and anyother thing which; I may have missed
As I am not interested in major modifications, weldings and cuttings; re-building 4D56 is always an option.
