    Hi Salam,
    I have access to three chassis
    1-Rangers Auctioned RKR 3 door.
    2-Land Cruiser 5 dOOr Chassis 1991 .Army Auctioned.
    3-Land Cruiser 5 door chassis 1988.Army Auctioned

    I have some queries about chassis and capsule adjustment.
    Can we adjust capsule of 3 door prado 2003 on RKR.
    or
    Can we adjust capsule of land cruiser 2009 on the chassis of 1991 Land cruiser.

    people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

    Not sure abt 3 door query but you can do the capsule change on the 5 door cruiser, will need a little adjustment. Just make sure to pay the body tax to legalise the car.

    i wonder what you mean by access to chassis - please correct me to understand you are saying the body shell & engine are removed and only chassis frame with drive train is available from auction? normally when body shell & engine is removed the left over material is sold as METAL scrap with flamed out frame numbers.

    Please give details regarding payment of body tax. Where to pay and what is the procedure for assessment of payable amount.

    always a receipt with a frame / shell / capsule / engine number is required while request for change on regn book. another pre-requisite is import or de-registration document for the requested change. 'MONEY' talks 'MONEY' drives 'MONEY' rides greasing palms may sort out paper work with the local MVR but Customs Intelligence & Land Vigilance touts are at task - any suspicious vehicle 1st they identify do recon on location while MVR files are rummaged & dug-out SUV / TOP of Line sedans are taken in custody - lately it has multiplied due to supreme court order and every Tout gets 10% of confiscated value of the vehicle which is now a six digit figure.

    Toyota is most notorious for SUVs SWAP & Tampering. Mitsubishi Pajero is another Customs Magnet.

    I have been stopped between Karachi & Gawader few times in last 2 months by customs & coast guards for vehicle verification - It is a Prado 2700 cc Petrol - if you have time & money for a legal battle for a 4x4 / SUV / Sedan to Fight for ... Take it ON

    Go to excise and taxation or motor wing they will be able to help you.. Nothing wrong with this since u pay any taxes and get it on book. Then no one can stop you.

    You guys are mixing up two things hereLets say i have a chassis of 1st gen pajero and i want to put body of second gen on it, ITS ILLEGAL but changing body of 1st gen on 1st gen chassis is LEGAL all you need is custom reciept which proves you paid duty on the BODY

    Are you sure about this, I don't think it is correct. It doesn't state anywhere that you can't do this.

    The suggested swaps are technically illegal as the suggested bodies and frames are different things altogether. "capsat" above is right, if such a vehicle is identified, it is subject to outright confiscation. On a point of information, with great respect and veneration to "capsat", informers are legally entitled to compensation from Pakistan Customs although the remuneration is not a six digit figure in the least. The Anti-Smuggling Operations (ASOs) of Preventive sections as well as the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation are always on the look out for jeeps and top of the line sedans that might be manipulated to evade duties and taxes.

    So changing body of 1 gen with other is not legel whereas body change of same generation can be done, with the fulfillment of duty..
    How about changing body of a hilux with surf of same year ? like 1994 model hilux chasis on surf body belonging to 1994 ? is it illegel too ?

I have one query if you may please guide in right direction. half cuts - as in picture in container at scrap value can be imported? what will be PCT as the HS code over the export document will be of automotive scrap HS code 7204.4920 Or would it be classified under different HS CODE / PCT. Please help

    Imtishal, changing of body or engine within the same generation is totally legal as long as you have the import documentation for the body or the engine. Also, please remember that under the Import Policy Order, 2013 the importation of a used body or engine is not allowed at all right now. You can therefore only use the engine or body from:
    1. a vehicle that had been imported and cleared before;
    2. a vehicle from Afghanistan or from non-tariff areas that has been brought into tariff areas through a Bill of Entry.

    @ capsat, glad to be of assistance. I will continue to help in any way that I can.

    In the case of the half cut depicted, the PCT will not be 7204.4920 but will instead come from Chapter 87, specifically sub-heading 8703, of the Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT), as per Rule 2(a) of the General Rules for Interpretation. I can not specify the exact PCT since I have no idea what engine size we are referring to here. As you can see in the picture above, the vehicle still retains its "essential character" after dis-assembly and if imported in the form shown above. When conflicting headings are available for classification of a single product, it is pertinent to refer to the General Rules for Interpretation that are listed in the PCT just before the First Chapter. Rule 2(a) of the General Rules for Interpretation states that a product that retains its essential character after dis-assembly must be classified as the original product itself. However, if the vehicle is totally sliced up and its form is not recognizable as a vehicle anymore, you may apply Chapter 72 since there is no essential character to the sliced up pieces.

    On another note, why would you wish to import a sliced up vehicle? Are you planning to redo an older vehicle or are you planning to sell off spare parts?
