I bought an FJ40 in Army auction in 2011.
Have been working slowly and steadily to restore it back to stock and also add some luxuries.
here is what has been done;
Engine is Stock 2F- cleaned and fixed the beast
New Carb- Aisan
New Distributor of 1998 LC ( please do change your stock distributor if you want to get rid of missing problems in the carb; have one installed and it works wonder with the 2F- trust me on this and you will be one happy chappy with the 2F)
New Clutch and pressure plates
New brakes but still stock drums brakes
4 forward stock gear installed instead of 3 forward stock it came with
original stock shafts replaced with gear
Mercedes C200 compressor and Air Conitioner installed- chilling
New Headlights & HID Kit 55W Osram
New rear lights
New parking and front indicator lights
4 additional Spot lights installed on top
Toyota Prado Rims 16" (All 5)
Cooper USA MT Tyres 245x85x16
Soft Top fabricated with a sunroof zipper opening
Lots of chrome- Bumpers, grills,hinges,etc.
Electric blue metallic paint
original Toyota FJ/BJ Snorkel
Front seats- Toyota Prado 1998
Back seats- Original FJ40 front seats located to back
Floor rubber matting
All doors and window channel rubbers replaced
Windscreen polished
Stock Spring leafs cleaned and adjusted, new bushes installed
Stock Shock absorbers serviced, new bushes installed
Steering spigot replaced and column serviced
Jerry can painted matt black installed
Back door new door handles
Thats all i can remember, it is an ongoing project like all such projects and i have made it this far in over a years work with probably most of the mechanics in Lahore and now City Sadar's Farooq& jamil Awan ( city sadar is the place for an FJ in trouble no one in Lahore can sort all your troubles)
The inspiration for all this came from Noms Injun V8FJ40 and also received a lot of guidance from him:)
