Default DIY: Painting my Nissan Patrol

    Hello my 4x4 brothers.

Some of you may know how I've been working on my so called secret project at home....well, here it is!
A few weeks ago, I was debating over whether to paint my NP or not. Sure enough, when you have friends with as big 'keerdhaas' as yourself, you end up doing things you never thought you would. So yes, my friend Irfan and I got the idea to paint my Nissan Patrol at home. I figured I could learn a new skill and do the kind of job that I would be most satisfied with as opposed to being at the mercy or denters and painters who would charge an arm n leg for the job. Although, I must point out that saving money was not the priority here, it was more about satisfying the 'shaukeen pagal wala bug' that most of us insane car enthusiasts have here on this forum
Here is the story of how all this happened and where we have reached so far....enjoy the pics and do contribute to the thread.

I am just hesitating because local traffic is so bad, others put door dings from carelessness, and in past i just had concentrated on car's mechanical repair work only.
levin ... they will charge extra for labour and 25K sounds reasonable ... I have a cuore and i've been quoted between 15K and 45K. Just make sure YOU buy the right paint and good quality lacquer. if you leave the paint materials to the painter then you might run into trouble. I'm planning to do the cuore myself with hasan around the end of Feb and our estimated cost is about 8-12K for the whole car.

Ajab lala! Thanks so much, the link is very useful.
Inshallah will finish this DIY over the weekend and post pics by Monday.
After this is done, still on the wish list is the snorkel, rock-siders, nudge bar and a juicy set of 33's.

    Beautiful!! Marvelous work!
The thing is that no matter how much you DO with Nissan Safari, it seems less.
This SUV is made to modify & beautify UNLIMITED ! You can't stop!
I painted ma Safari Black. Full black, grill, rims, bull-bars(front-back), side steps door lockers,
i had TALL skinny tyres like BUS/Truck.
Then i was then i was bout' to put 20inch Lift+Upside Doors openings',
But Then because of parts problems & all mechanics don't touch this vehicle, i sold it off.
My Safari was called " Big Black BEAST " in ma' town DHA, Karachi.

Well boys...I am pleased to announce that the job is complete and the beast is ready to rumble! Got the same polish guys to come to the house for the final touches. There are some mistakes, some overspills n some under-spills but overall, I'm happy with the results, will let the pics do all the talking...

After trying a variety of brands of polish like Formula 1 etc, I've come to conclude that the Turtle Wax ICE series is perfect. A bit pricey, but really worth it. I would recommend that everyone use this brand.

Your ride looks awesome. You did a fantastic job... Kudos!!! And projector lights have given a despicable look to the ride, which conforms to the overall beastly aura. Thumbs up for you my friend!!!

    BRAVO!

Great Job Brother. One must have strong determination and craziness about his ride to do some out of the box stuff like you did most importantly with your OWN HAND

In my opinion you should put the those hollow rims back on. Rig would be more sesk with those.

    Tuned for your next upgrades.

    Good Luck
