Default DIY: Painting my Nissan Patrol

    Hello my 4x4 brothers.

Some of you may know how I've been working on my so called secret project at home....well, here it is!
A few weeks ago, I was debating over whether to paint my NP or not. Sure enough, when you have friends with as big 'keerdhaas' as yourself, you end up doing things you never thought you would. So yes, my friend Irfan and I got the idea to paint my Nissan Patrol at home. I figured I could learn a new skill and do the kind of job that I would be most satisfied with as opposed to being at the mercy or denters and painters who would charge an arm n leg for the job. Although, I must point out that saving money was not the priority here, it was more about satisfying the 'shaukeen pagal wala bug' that most of us insane car enthusiasts have here on this forum
Here is the story of how all this happened and where we have reached so far....enjoy the pics and do contribute to the thread.

Mr. Hayzin...what is this I hear about your Nissan Patrol being on sale for a TLC 80?? You have spent so much time and money on this, why the sudden change of heart? Or is my information incorrect?

^Ali bhai you never let anything pass do you?
Sir your information is 50% correct.
I actually found two 80 Series that I really liked and was debating over whether to get either one.
Unfortunately upon following up on those two vehicles, one (the better one) was sold and the other on further inspection, turned out to have many mechanical problems. It required an engine overhaul among many other complications. And once I had the sense knocked into me, I realized that I have perfectly healthy Nissan Patrol so why get something that would be a headache later.
Eventually, I decided to stick with my NP which(disaster averted), as you so rightly pointed out, has been heavily invested in and it is Mashallah a trouble free and powerful machine....hence no sudden moves for now. Gearing up for IJC Snow Rally. Im sure many new pics will follow soon, stay tuned.

Finally got around to getting the sticker done. Went for a blazing red/orange color.

Unhappy IJC Snow Cross 2013 and farewell to the Patrol

After an extremely satisfying and trouble free event in Kalam, my Nissan Patrol has been much sought after by a dear friend in Karachi....I am sad to report that after all the enjoyable trips of Parsan and Kalam, my Patrol will soon be seen in Karachi with its new owner. This was the first time a vehicle of mine was sold without putting up any ads online.
I personally put in a lot of love, energy and effort into this machine and am giving it away with a heavy heart...may the new owner enjoy it as much as I have and treat it with all the care that it deserves. Attached is a pic of the Kalam trip and some final shots before saying farewell...and so begins a new chapter of the next 4x4...

Very sad news. This was a great offroader! The new owner is very lucky.
Looking forward to your new purchase.

Very impresive DIY... As such work really require absolute dedication and consistancy in mood and will. Very good work in the end, maybe after few polishes it gives shine as well. Good work
