Default To remove Egr or block it?

Hey guys, have a question. I have a Surf 97, IKZ-TE, its mileage according to the meter is 160,000km's(which I doubt). I have been thinking of either blocking the the EGR, or if it can be removed. Which is going to be better and less hassle. As far as the health of the engine is concerned, its pretty good, just gives out smoke a little too much.

    Looking for your input guys.

It is better to block it in Pakistan. I tried running with a fully functional one in my Estima but diesel here produces excessive gunk and intake is choked over time. Make sure to block it from both exhaust as well as intake end.
