Well ... You should also consider Mark X. It's as nice as BMW and Merc.

What about the price? Did they say anything? If they didn't announce the price then did they ask customer's opinion on price?

A dealer said it would be 23-24 Feb in PC or Royal Palm but he wasn't sure but noted down my information and said he will call to confirm.

They said not confirmed but 52-55lakh. Invitees over there seem happy on this range.

Mani is right. This SUV is not meant for extra ordinary rich people or waderas. If I can afford Prado or LC then why would I spend money on a small SUV? Those who can spend over 5 million would go for a bigger option. IMC would be stupid to target such people. They should price it for upper middle class who can afford to go over Civic.

So IMC is not sure about the price, yet they are launching a new vehicle. How innocent they are?
It's their tactics!!! They want to get a feeling of how much would invitees spend on it by showing it and then price it accordingly. If there was ever regulation in this country we wouldn't be over paying for everything including rooti, kapra and makan.

looks like the damn invitees who seemed happy on the price have ruined it for all of us. IMC would now price it at 55 lacs

Yes, looks like it. That's why all of us going to these launch ceremonies should tell them 3 things.

    1. It's expensive and I will not buy it for over 4.5 million and rather spend that money wisely on other options.
    2. Mention Fortuner's short comings as pointed out earlier in the post.
    3. Also mention that it's cheaper in other countries whereas the different of price for other vehicles (Corolla and Civic) in those countries is marginal so why Fortuner is priced high here?

I think IMC might learn their lesson the hard way when their sales tank and they can't meet the projected figures. At that point they won't be lowering the price but publishing Ads in newspaper giving comparisons of imported and new vehicles or by offering some free packages.

    The price is 51,79,500

The car is well made, most of it is thailand, 90% probably, the sales person with me told me that only the seats are locally made.

Instead of wooden it has black/greyish chormeish finish.

Didnt spark me, But i wont mind one parked in my garage.

Imobilizer is present in it, No Cruise Control, Full Time 4WD (this would cause low fuel effieciency).

The dashboard isnt as soft as of Corollas uper part, Its hard as in All Hilux and Vigos. Altho the leather trims make it look good, The DVD BVC, Navigation was good, Sound system was decent, Engine noise the room was packed couldnt judge, Theirs no sound deadening sheet under the bonnet, and yes the best part it has a Optiron meter, and Electric driver seat. and yes the third row was good too. 10-15 years olds can be seated easily/Comfortably.

@mani9999 its has the rear wiper, chrome handles, rear spoiler, and is avalible in all 8 Corolla/Vigo colors. Display cars were White, Medium Silver and Black was the one under cover.

Its was made good, They take indivisual customers seperatly, as you walkin the lights go on, And the curtain unveils the Fortuner, And then they take you in the room with 2 more cars parked. They had refreshments, the guys knew what they were showing.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    Default okay....

    thanx for the info.

so we know the features....and price is abt 52 lacs. adding to that registration cost and tax becomes 54 lacs.

is it worth it? that would be decided by the market in a few months.

for me...i would still go to have a look and see if the problems+price vs features+shauk ........which way the balance goes for me.

    why no pictures still ??

    Price is almost ok .
Thanks bro for getting us the info directly from horse's mouth.

So it's going to be around 5.5 million with registration n everything. I will also go to check it out and test drive it as well before making a decision but I know I might not buy it. I can live without SUV n spend on a luxury car instead.
I am not comfortable with the fact that imc could have priced it around 4.5 but decided to rip us off with a car with danger of roll over.
