Default Mutt 1988 restoration project - please help

I know there are several threads here for Mutt restoration projects and have load of information but I need help fr any latest info about restoration I am about o make. I don't have any knowledge about jeeps let alone their restoration but am confident that I can do that in Lahore.
i got the Mutt 1988 model and it's body is in fair condition and won't need much denting. I will post pics tomorrow to give u better ideas. I have these questions for the moment. I have a mechanic who says he has restor couple of mutts. So

    1. He wants to put petrol engine instead of a ideal one which I have read and hreard is cheaper and better performing
    2. I heard military green clor is. Not allowed
    3. Where to get parts in Lahore which I will know what the jeep needs in few days time.

    Thanks in advance

ok first thing thats a m825- Variant with M40 106mm recoilless rifle mounted on rear.

    good luck
i will guide u to keep every thing genuine as it .
u can replace the engine but if u r replacing the engine replace the gearbox and diffs as well. will guide u to get a 3sefe (that's what in my brothers jeep) it runs great and has ALOT OF POWER.

genuine engine parts are available only major problem with the genuine engine is its economy which is abt 6 to 8km /l but u can increase that by replacing the genuine carburetor and distributor.

if u r restoring the jeep first get the car running and drive it for 2-3 months till its mechanically flawless and then get it dented painted.\
do note a good restoration will cost u b/w 350 to 5lakh .do not think u will spend 1lakh more and it will be fully restored

and yes army green is not allowed

also its seems alot of parts from jeep are missing/removed by kabaria on purpose to sell them to u afterwards
go back to him and ask for them. few that i can tell directly are hood cage, seats jerrycan e.t.c

also it see that some one already changed its genuine distributor with aftermarket one

sorry for delay in response. Yes, progress has been steady and according to plan as per economy and standard. All this was possible due to Mohsin as he has been the architect of the project. Engine has been swapped with an original 2400 cc Mutt and color has been scraped. Electric and mechanical work is complete. I will drive it for few days and then finally do the rest of the mechanical and tires. I will go for dark grey color. I will post few pics soon.

make that at-least 2 weeks as DAILY RUNNER!!

ALSO GET THE TIRES FIRST U DO NOT WANT IT TO END UP IN AN ACCIDENT JUST BECAUSE OF THE TIRES.also if u intend to use wide chunky tyres u will have to widen the rear arches or add gola

@ahmad155 you have find the right person mohsin.now you wont face any difficulty.Being a owner of mutt i would suggest you not to go for very wide tires.better find some normal good offroad tire.

Just brought it back home - now would try to drive for few days. It needs a lot of things. I like the color of base color too may finalize something in this tone.. tires would be normal 7-16 ones, lEDs and meters would be hummer ones
