I agree Yasir,,, gearing was too short with stock 215/80/15 tyres, which we plan to change to 32" inch tyres on Sunday. Circumference of tyres will increase from around 89 inches to almost 100 inches, which is 11% improvement in ratios already.
At the moment, I do not have funds to install 70 series tubes with built in Diff Locks, though these will remain in my wish wishlist. SK told that 70 series tubes will have ratios of 4.1, which again will lengthen the gears.
Having said so, the bright side of it is its extra pulling capacity/torque. After all, the idea for Kaikra is to be our luggage/trolley dragging vehicle for rallies and if required, a recovery/service vehicle. Weekend off roading or occasional touring will be the fringe benefits.
You must take some time out for Kaikra, after all it's the baby of all of us and Insha Allah it will serve all of us during our Rally days. SK for sure is the lead architect *** consultant, with Akif, Nashit and Farooq on his sides. You are an engineer and I am sure your opinion will improve the final outcome.
Since Evo is with Farooq already, progress on Kaikra will slow down a bit, therefore most likely we will have to make the outer rollcage of Kaikra and your Surf like front bumper in Lahore.
