    Default The final position...

The sump is at this stage almost completely in front/above the diff with adequate space. There is ample space available to move the engine back by about 5 inches, but we decided to leave it as it sits owing to multiple issues. The front grill will extend about 6 inches forward with clutch fan and radiator. Frame extentions would be required to retrofit the bumper. The two fans are 1UZ clutch fan possibilities, left is original with broken fin and right is 2JZ fan with one key difference

My Evo's original engine was lost due to rally beating,,, it costs 700K to rebuild, almost everything has to be ordered in Japan,,, takes 3 to 4 months for the parts to arrive. Two persons, Ronnie Patel and Anas Khakwani had rebuilt their engines in 2011 but both engines could not take rally beating again. So,,, easy way out was to forget Evo's genuine engine and find a replacement,,, hence 2JZ-GTE

Being IFS, Diff is almost fixed, engine will have some movement on mounts,,, even if the distance between both is one inch, it s fine

    Fins are of opposite angles.

Is it possible that we can ask our friend Haji Zaman to give us the replacement of 1UZ's fan??

Regarding 2JZ,,, is it possible that we can fit a relatively larger fan on clutch,,, like if the genuine one is 10 inches in diameter,,, we fix a 12 inch diameter wala fan?

Engine and firewall has a sizable distance which can be a good ventilation point for the excess heat. Also, the engine is sitting quite low in the bay,,,, intercooler can be fitted on top of the engine, which was the basic plan

actually 1" is a lot of space.. from the pictures it looks as if the sump is right above the diff...but SK confirmed that its actually in front at this point... did the Mivec sit behind the diff? any thoughts on doing a diff drop to lower the engine further?

Had a detailed discussion with SK this morning and it was decided that we will alter as less as possible, meaning thereby that gear and diffs positioning will remain on genuine welding/places.

Engine is of course 18-20 kg heavier and is placed around 5 inches forward than the genuine engine. This will definitely ruin the perfect 50/50 balance of stock Evo. Once the engine is placed and Evo is in running condition, we will weigh Evo and try to restore the 50-50 balance by adding the 2nd spare tyre and rearranging the auxiliary fuel tank, tool box etc.

Everything is pointing towards it being nose heavy.

Apart from the minor adjustments for our 4 door Kaikra, this is likely to be the favoured design

My Rally Nissan is front heavy too but there is a treatment for it,,, check its videos. First run was at the speed of about 150 and the second one at about 140. It lands on rear wheels. Insha Allah we will balance Evo and tamper with suspension for proper landing

During rally, we do this for 200 odd kilometers straight,,, no big deal

No wonder, despite being the best of the best vehicles, driven by most daring drivers,,, almost 40% rally vehicles don't make it to the finish line
