    Coin test means to show the smoothness of v8 engine especially the Lexus engines. You put a coin in standing position on the top of engine cover and rev the engine slowly without hitting the rev limiter.

    A learned friend of mine remarked back in the day that forget the Lexus, the guys who made the rollers for the Balance ad should be given an award as there was no vibration at such high-speed

    I tried the coin test on this engine by putting a small screw (instead of coin) on the plenum. Somehow it lost its balance as soon as I touched the throttle and dropped inside the V cavity of the engine Oops!!!

    Good luck with the Project , What tyre size are u going to run , i am also restoring a gen 1 single cab with a 3rz in it .Regards

    Kaikra's maiden voyage after transplant, it was driven from Rawalpindi to Lahore via M2.

    Left RWP at around 7 pm, two stops on M2 for food and fuel, reached Lahore at 12:15

    No technical issues on its first trip, yeeaah

    Salaam Burhan,

    For the time being it is going to be 265/75/16, have 2 sets, one of Cooper STT Discoverer MT and other ATs, lets see which one looks better. 1UZ is very powerful and in pristine condition, guess extra weigh of MT tyres wont be an issue with Kaikra, so for the time, my vote is for MTs.

    Have heard about your project from Suhaib, hope it turns out as per expectation. 3RZ is a fine engine but my vote would either go for 5VZ or 1UZ. Kindly post some pictures of your 4x4

    For Evolution, plan is to stick with the original gear, 4x4 and diffs. Genuine engine of Evo once produced 280 bhps, so we are hopeful that 10 to 15 percent jump in power because of 2JZ can easily be endured by Evo's stock drive-line.

    Having said so, fingers are crossed and we can only be sure once Evo is on road, Insha Allah sooner than later because next rally season is just around the corner

    My Evo is at Ustad Jameel's, Kaikra is back in Lahore, Ghuncha's FJ is on road too, so worries. Besides, your BJ is almost ready, I dont think it will take more than a couple of days before you can get its final delivery

    It seems to be an error indicator or something with the entire wiring pin-outs connected to / through it. I am guessing that if any one of the circuits loses current, a light goes on and you can trace exactly where the issue is. Anyhow thats what I thought it is, quite an interesting concept! may be useful for a Dakar / Baja rally car or something, though not really for our rally circuits!

    Aoa Qaism Bhai , 1uz in a lux is a popular choice among hilux enthusiast , hope u r enjoying it .Mine is a 1982 model single Cab , Short Bed hilux , intended purpose is touring , offroading , and to be used in work as well , so fuel economy was a consideration . i did thought putting a 1uz in it initially , but somewhere i felt it to be more complex swap , and off course heavy on fuel, both 1uz and 5vz are good power plants . Hope 3rz is going to do my job . progress is slow , as the ramazan is here , hopefully will get the hilux in a week time , will do the paint job after ramazan . lets see
