    2JZ's Oil Pan is now clear of the Front Diff, which basically was the only reason to move the Engine back by 5.75 inches.

    Since the Oil Pan was shaved a bit in Rawalpindi to fit it over the Front Diff and it had oil seepage, so we decided to put in an un-tampered pan, to be purchased from Bilal Gung.

    Since the corner of the un-tampered pan would be only 1.25/1.5 inches from the Front Diff, it has been decided to raise the height of the engine by around 1.5 inches by putting in the new engine mounting plates

    Plate with 4 bolts, holding the engine will now be replaced with taller plates so that the engine rests 1.5 inches higher

    Looking good! Ideally there should be a dry sump and engine lowered by a few inches rather than being raised. I don't get what is the concern with the tapered pan as oil capacity can be supplemented with an oil cooler.

    You don't really need to put any more than 1.5" between the oil pan and front diff as the diff does not move. It is mounted to the frame. The engine will not move more than 0.5-0.7" either even on the hardest jumps. There just isn't that much play in the engine mounts.

    That said, are you replacing the upper aluminum half of the oil pan too? If so, I'll take it off your hands since I need this configuration for my vehicle.

    Checked the cost of dry sumps over internet a few months ago,, they ranged from 3000 USD to 4500 USD,,, frankly a bit too much at this stage.

    The sump that came from Pindi was seeping oil, that is the only reason it is being changed

    We might taper the new sump and bring the engine back to where it was but we will finally decide on this once the shafts are fitted. Today gave the rear and front shafts for shortening/extending respectively, hopefully they will return by tomorrow evening.

    Since only the rear diff is at its factory settings, plan is to fit the rear shaft first and than align the mated engine/gear with it. If required, the engine will be lifted otherwise it will be kept at the previous position. In case the engine has to be lowered, I will get the new sump shaved from Lahore

    @Jeep_junkie

    Sorry mate,,, need the aluminium piece but i am sure you will be able to find it in shops selling used parts, Suhaib Kiani bought it for me in Rawalpindi a few months ago

    Regarding the clearance, guess 1.5 inches should suffice,,, but its the idiot in me that I am more worried about

    This is from one of the early days, bad habits became worst later

    Engine (+gear) lowered by 2 inches is something serious..... and so is an engine raised by 1.5!!

    I believe, this was a mid or rear sump which is slightly rare but still should be findable.

    I would also think that 1.5 inch clearance on an IFS car should work no matter what, and if it doesn't then there has to be something else wrong somewhere.

    Rear sump mod can be done with a 2JZ-GE sump and pickup. Just a few extra holes have to be drilled / tapped for oil return lines from the turbos. That way, the engine might be set down a bit for lower CG. Also, if you're so concerned about the engine moving that much, polyurethane or even aluminium alloy motor mounts are an option. It'll buzz like crazy, but it won't let the motor move at all.

    Ive offset the rubber on the wheels to mimic the install of the long travel suspension. Also for some strange reason the rake is off with the model much lower upfront. With the actual vehicle the rake will be the opposite with the front being higher than the rear. I'm still debating whether the wheelbase should be extended. Lengthening the wheelbase does come at the expense of a longer turning circle. For starter we'll keep the wheelbase as is.... in the end this is what it should look like. The HiLex Kaikra and Pajero Evolution 2JZGTE Builds! -1559409The HiLex Kaikra and Pajero Evolution 2JZGTE Builds! -1559410
