hayzin, how much for the single cab? does he have others lying around? i can take the single cab body off you if you decide to do the double cab swap....

SK,why bother swapping an IFS on a mkii when you can get a mkiv cheap... that is if its cheap
The last number Haji gave us on the single cab, as is, was 10.5 lakhs with the 3L. He has other cabs lying around but none were of 90's models and the condition was just ok, nothing special. But this 2002 one was a good option if the guy would budge from his asking price. No luck there sadly.

@yaserag : I suspect this is a T100 and not really a Hilux, right. What are the differences between the two apart from bed/body from a racing perspective? Track width/diffs only or more to it?

This is essentially the US spec, xtra cab truck (hilux), if i remember correctly it has the same wheelbase (+120") as the t100 which came in '93. The rest is essentially hilux. Our hilux is the 112" wheelbase version.

The T100 had a higher width/track (9" or so) and had a full size bed (8ft) to compete with dodge's, fords and chevys. Under the skin it used the same drive train/components as the truck/hilux... so its basically a longer/wider hilux for the US...too wide and long to be of any use in our races ...xtra cab t100 prerunner anyone? Yaar, we have thought about such a race, but problem yeh hai ke IFS waley logon ke pack ho jaatee hai jab rocks pe gaaree 30-40kmph reach kartee hai Hence no chance of this happening around here....

...oh and forgot to mention. Most long travel kits for the hilux use T100 axles to retain 4wd...no modifications required everything is bolt on

Oh OK, I get it now, I saw a number of these T100s in the US and always thought them to be older models of the Tacoma. Must say these stood out as sturdy looking trucks and held their own against the Fords and Chevys which seemed dominate the highways despite the Tundras and Titans....

the T100 is basically the Tundras predecessor... tacomas are younger brothers of the toyota "truck" (dunno why they couldnt call it hilux there)... now they have the whats called the "120" platform which is the basis for 4runner, fj cruiser and prado/lexus gx... the 120 shares some underpinnings with the taco and vigo as well... hence the parts interchangeability... my icons are supposedly for an FJ cruiser but bolt right onto the surf..

The 1UZ is 4000cc. The car has its original gear box, diffs and suspension from the 2L 2400cc diesel LN65 model!

this one is based on the longer hilux (122" wheelbase) platform that qwerty put up. If i recall correctly this is using a total chaos "caddy" long travel kit for the truck/hilux that increases track width by 6" and increases travel to 12/13". Deavers at the back with 9" shackles if im not mistaken...No vigo bits used here... theyve used radlfo shockers all round... and i think the powerplant is a UZ...could be a UR... the drivers/nav are kazakh...and they raced dakar this year...also raced the pharaohs rally in egypt last year

according to my observation the a/c condenser in this model is under the grill with the separate cooling fan similar to the one mounted in Hi ace and lite ace.
