Sir, With due respect I would like to differ from you here on parts availability/swapping, As we own a nissan tiger D-cabin 95 model and a mazda D-cabin 98 model, for what I have understood so far, both have almost identical suspension/chassis architecture, and their parts can be swapped with each other (will try to swap a few things just to clarify my keera), arguably, the owner of Nissan claims that his dalla can be compared at any terrain with toyota and in some conditions even supersedes it ...The whole point being just to mild out the hype and craving of a hilux.

Yasir,, on a serious note,,, your Surf is perfect, you just need one session with me in office as I think I found what you did wrong before roll over. Trick is to complete a rally or two for practice before starting to go all out. With Surf, its surely a podium every time you finish

on a more serious note, desert racing being big in the US you'll find a lot of aftermarket performance parts for toyotas. Things like long travel suspensions, steering, tranny, diff upgrades etc. almost all of the the stuff is bolt on and has been tried and tested to no end. The nissan hardbody is a good platform but doesnt enjoy the same level of enthusiasm and support (especially technical support) as the lux. Niether do the mitsus and mazdas for that matter.... theoretically you can turn any truck into a desert racer. Since we're (read me especially) not that great on development ourselves we/I rely alot on whats been done to trucks elsewhere...and theres tons of stuff available on yotas...next to nothing on others...hence the preference...

a nissan hardbody is 200K tops these days for a good khoka...good starting point price wise but will take a lot of time and effort to get it to be competitive...time that most of us "day jobbers" don't have... so we chicken out and go the easy (read more expensive) route... lastly toyotas rule!! just check this years Dakar

You right about the huge support of aftermarket parts for a lux, and scarcity of such for other brands. But I wonder, since all these vehicles share almost same architecture/suspension, can these aftermarket parts be installed to other brands as well, as everyone is not as lucky as saidhi..., an average condition lux costs almost double-triple if not more compared to other brands.
Any guidance to a nissan khokha will be highly appreciated.

Nissan has had a significant presence in off-road racing in the US over the years as a company, although less active in recent times. In Australia/New Zealand obviously, Nissan is much more dominant than Toyota when it comes to motorsports, although the main focus in on the Patrol, there are plenty of Navarra and Titan based vehicles there. I am not too familiar with the hard-body type pickup myself but I have seen some build threads for these vehicles on off road racing sites (race-dezert, desert rangers) from back in the days when Nissan sponsored official teams. They even had Chuck Norris drive one of their cars back in the day! So its not a bad prospect from a rally perspective... However, one thing is that an the saleability or market/break-up value of a Toyota or Suzuki rally project is reasonable (one would hope!) whereas a Nissan or Jeep build you are most likely just sinking money without any hope of recovery.

Lovely post Ali, many thanks! Although in my research into the background of most rally racers, most of them measure up to being baddazz "gandey bachey" of either street racers or shikari shikrey background. Shareefon ka kaam nahin hai yeh, it seems
