    Default Which Engine for Fj40 plz help me experts

    Aoa to all honourable members,
    my dream from child hood was to own a jeep which i got purchased today for my self with my own pocket
    after a long long savings now i want help from jeep experts plz help me choose good engine for northern areas
    trips like naran skardu hunza nt ruff & tuff offroading in sands r0ocks etc ,

    i would like to swap a petrol engine (my preference) like 2Jz or Jz bcoz no heavy sound n vibration like diesel engines.

    now experts plzzz help me is petrol engine is good for Fj40 & is our Electritions r capable of wiring the E.C.U sensors etc in reliable terms & who can do it in Lahore.

    if petrol engine & mechanics r nt suitable for my Fj40 plz suggest me good diesel engine expcept 1kz bcoz of my pocket.

    3.4 litre toyota V6 is the best choice (came in surf and prado) if you are thinking for patrol with some decent fuel average and power.
    and 1KD if you thinking of diesel

    No 2jz , gud on road perfomance but lack of low end torque during off roading

    If you want petrol try and find a 3.4L 5VZ-FE V6 pulled from a Surf/Prado. Its a good engine but it gives 7-7.2km/l average on my Prado.

    If you want to have a petrol engine! Stick to the original 2F...get it overhauled and get a new carburator and a new CDi distributor..
    For trips to nothren areas...(in my opinion) go for a simple no fuss Diesel engine. 1KZ is a good option and probably the cheapest Diesel engine to buy...it is smooth and the electronics on it are low key...Per kilometer cost of 1KZ will be Lower than a 2F. Cant say about 5VZ.

    Imran bhai i would say 3.0 litre twin cam crown petrol engine would also b spinning the wheels and will give much better efficiency....and if u r going for diesel 1kz is the best option...although 1 kd is a newer version of 1 kz and is smokeless engine ...but still 1 kz is some sort of extra efficient engine and in my opinion it gives more power also...
    From 2.0 Toyota Corolla to 2.5 MMC Pajero ...Corolla u ll always b missed...but the life goes ON...

    3.4L 5VZ-FE V6 is a good option and if you are looking for anything else, just keep in mind that you will get 6-9 kms/l with any engine you putt in.

    if you want to have a complete package then try putting in a B2 or B3 (diesel) in your FJ40. I have used them in past and they are very tough engines according to our environment and use, simple to maintain and parts are easily available.
    and if you looking forward to put in a fancy engines like JZ, UZ, VZ, KZ, according to me these are disposable engines and they will start making holes in your pocket if you are unlucky while using them on our roads.

    i myself have planted 1UZ for the sake of fun and nothing else.
