Lightbulb *Is 3CT the best available choice in diesel for a Mid Size Jeep...Please Help**

    AOA 4WD friends

I am a little novice in Jeep thing ...all i need a little help/info about Toyota 3CT diesel as i want to put that engine in one of my Mid Size Jeep (Daihatsu Rocky).

will its the best available option as keeping in mind its better fuel efficiency with out compromising on power ??
also i like its light weight and high RPM features.
I want to stay Diesel and do not like Bulky Engines like 2L/3L
what about the availability of these engines now a days >
who is the most versed person at Pakwheels with this particular engines about its pros & cons .

    Need Help.

    Thanking in advance.

3CT is the good option.... You can also go for 1KZ-TE!

The best option will be 2CT otherwise go for 3CT or 1KZ-TE

Thanks brother for your value able input
1KZ is out of list because of its electronics and gas gazzlers issues.

In my opinion 3C-T will be good for a Rocky. 1KZ will be a little bit of an over kill.

I used 3C-T in my CJ7, and gave it a good thrashing. It passed all the tests. The only thing which is a bit of a question is the small clutch plate of a 3C-T. Some times it over cooks under load.

The major advantage that a 3C-T has is the fuel consumption. I remember getting 10 Km/L in the city and 15 Km/L on the motorway(cruising at 90 Km/H).

Dear Rocky should b at least equipped with 3.4 cc diesel engine if u want good results from it ...1 kz is a really good engine n i hope it would give u an avg of 8 km per liter in town...plus it has great power in it and ur ride would become a Pocket Rocket...although 3cT is also a very good engine comprising of good torque at low rpm with great fuel efficiency and u ll b amazaed that 3c T can give u more near or more than 10 km per liter in town...but 1 KZ is simply awesome ...1KZ is a beast...simple jango...

for more info on 3CT u can contact Imran Joinami,he can guide u with 3CT and he has a lot of 3CT with him...he has recently imported from Japan ...he has also installed in his pajero...
his email id is khattak@gmail.com just give him my reference and he ll guide u,he is a really nice person.

    Regards

    @adnan

bro I doubt, 1kz is going to give 8km/L in city/local. The most economical 1Kz i have seen (original on 3 door prado) was around 6.5 km/l in city and that with a lighter foot.

@poster, My vote will be a 3ct, Ive tested it on my cj5 for good 5 years and has never disappointed me in terms of efficiency as well as power. I used to get 11 ish with the original 3 speed gear of cj5. Have also driven Imrans Pajero with 3ct and it really is fast although a little torqy.

    Hi fellow,

I do not consider myself an expert on this. But I have been using a vehicle with 3CT engine and have used it to the max. It never failed me, during my travel to northern areas with a very nice fuel economy. But as you push this engine harder and harder on a 4x4 engaged, and heavy loads, it weakens up with time, and you need a service may be every three to four years.

But at a economy, this is the best bet you can have. I am using the same engine with CJ5, with rocky gearbox and it gives me around 10KM/Lit in town and 14 KM on highway... A bit noisy thou.

2ct and 3ct has the same fuel consumption.. so why not go for a more powerful engine if its going to drink up the same amount of diesel. (3ct might even have a slightly better mileage...
i have checked sultan ka khu and mithu khan ka ahata.. also checked istanal.. 3ct is short in isb.. found only one engine and that too was an efi version.. you will have to either go to lahore for it or peshawar..
    good luck bro

thanks brother for your value able input. i already have rocky so differential will not be an issue though. which gear box u using with the 3C ..
now i think more votes in favor of 3CT as many people have advised me to stay away from L family due to head cracks issue.

2c and 3c piston size is different in terms of height . and also they have different cranks so you can not easily make a 2C into 3C .
but if you really are a DIY lover than find a Estima Block (as it is cheap as compare to other 3C varients) and than mate it with your 2C or like wise...
