BK!! Have you checked the CG of this rig bcoz after reducing the weight from behind shifts the CG behind and God forbid in a rally if the rig lifted, it will touch the ground nose down and may damage the front. For that you may need some more weight to be installed behind to bring the CG forward.

Even climbing down on a steep terrain will immediately pull the tail up if a brake is applied.

And keep your CG as low as possible bcz as you burn your fuel it will further move the CG behind and will make your rig nose heavy....You can calculate your rig CG easily with the help of a Physics teacher or student. It will definitely give you more control of your car in high speed which you are gonna do

From what I have seen, having a light rear is not all that undesirable in our rallies where we have cars running in 4x4 and very few "air" jumps on the tracks. Nevertheless some sort of optimal balance has to be achieved and the car will under steer a lot more (for which you have to work out your particular steering control technique) and for Cholistan "khabbars" you have to learn how to drive the "wheel-barrow" on front wheels with rear bouncing up and down...........

However once suspension is all in, the rear kamani will have to be adjusted here by reducing number of leafs which are calibrated for stock weight. Possibly also look into moving the shackle hanger forward a bit to get a better shackle angle because from the pics its looking like a very stiff ride at the back...

I would be more concerned about the rear diff being off the ground a heck of a lot and losing traction on bumpy terrain and would recommend either replacing rear ghucha with 80 series LSD or a full 80 series rear tube with a locker....

get 2 x steel boxes fabricated 24 x 24 x 18 inches with base plates and use U-bolts to Tie down when venturing to a rally add / reduce weight ( sand in bags) as & when required will solve the tail lifting tail swings.

Do you guyz achieve speeds in a rally where the Rear Wing comes into the equation. As you mentioned that there are hardly any air jumps, so if you put a rear wing does it make you life a lil better on the steering wheel.

Aerodynamics can help get you from 19 to 20 on certain things in offroad racing, but they cannot solve fundamental issues like weight balance as such......

None of them are rally cars but off roader's and only used for terrain climbing or into mud......I am talking purely about rally cars for which you need aerofoil shape outer fairings to minimize the drag so outer safety cage is out of question....

That's why I said shifting of wt & balance shifts CG........getting air lifted even for an inch increases stress on the front suspension and if CG is moved to aft, it will be like an uncontrolled Wheel Barrow as you said above.......and the steering control technique if none will make it more worst.......Suhaib!! you had experienced the Cholistan track and can share your experience of high lifts/jumps on bumps....

Yaar best thing would be to take videos of the car at high speed jumps and rough tracks and analyse them. It is a fact that driver ko at times pura andaza nahin hota ke assal kahani kyaa chal rahee hai, videos and photos tell a better story! Its a lot of work fine tuning the suspension of a offroad race car. Some of the professional baja teams spend weeks tuning shocks before every race. Our life is somewhat simpler because we have all the less things to play with here:

    1. Tyre at the back (one / two / large / small / heavy / light) - makes a difference, along with how far back....
    2. Kamani number and tarr angle: lots of rope to hang yourself with but as few as you can go while maintaining proper angle and not breaking springs (yes they do break!)....
    3. Shackle length: longer ones at the back can be tried for some more travel as long as back not raised too much...
    4. Shocks: Always worth the investment. BTW which KING shocks have been ordered here?

Cholistan kee mat yaad dilaein, kamar mein dard shuru ho jaata hai
"If YOU don't believe in what you're doing it'll never work."
