    Although, I absolutely don't believe in doing such things, but just for my knowledge what is it all about and how it is done? Each body has a VIN plate on which vehicle model number, chassis number, axle and transmission numbers and plant numbers are engraved. If you put the body of other vehicle on the chassis of another vehicle, it will surely mismatch. But these MRA and Police Lab people don't look at the VIN plate at all. They only check/test the chassis number from the chassis and the same on auction or registration documents and engine number. People are caught because VIN plates are tempered or what? I have a personal experience of registering an army auctioned FJ40 last year in Rwp. Both, Police Lab and MRA people didn't look at the VIN plate at all.
    And what is FRP Body? FRP = Fibreglass Reinforced Panel???

    Simply said, no its not possible without elongation of the chassis by about 11 inches. That does away with your originality right away.
    @ADIL

    How are you man? Hope you've been good. The Vin plate or the 'tikki' as it is also known is not any criteria for our 'lawmen'. Its actually funny isnt it ? How is your FJ running?

    Still dont get it. So if I buy an RKR chassis along with original auction documents and then fix a later model 70 series body from those Kabarias on it, goes to Police Lab for testing, get the number on chassis verified through Acid test with the auction docs, goes to MRA along with the test certificate from the police, MRA verifies the chassis number with the auction docs and test certificates and got the vehicle registered, so whats the problem then if no one verifies the chassis number on the VIN Plate and on the chassis?
    @HamzahF: I am fine Mate. Good to hear from you after a long time. My FJ is parked and hardly had few kilometers in the last one year. It's battery is being used in a UPS . I will be in Pk in Oct/Nov. Lets see if we can catch up this time around. I have loads to discuss with you .

    @AdilFJ40

    Sure thing, I would love to meet up and exchange notes on our prides. Much to be seen in your FJ, much to be heard with it running. These boys are just magical and I am tremendously biased to these well balanced, old school cast iron bruisers. They idle so beautifully. Last night I got a migraine from sitting in front of my FJ's exhaust for about half an hour listening to it purr on each stroke ! It is just something else! Do you have by any chance a video of the engine running?

    LOL "migraine from the exhaust fumes of an FJ" . You need to slow down mate. I also believe that a Naturally Aspirated Engine has its own unique feeling. Just sent you a pm.

    Let me know if these videos work there.

    @hsumbal1 In my case they did check the number on the engine with number on the auction documents. No acid test was done for engine number. I think in case of engine change, they need the invoice from the engine supplier showing the new engine number with other engine details.

    It is illegal and nothing to do with engine change/ police lab or the registration authorities. As per the customs laws, one can not change the body even if it is of the same model and brand.
