    Default 1kzte ecu

    My ride ECU is dead.
It is 1KZTE M/T (Manual Transmission)
    Nameplate data is
    89661-60230
    175800-1283 12V
    Make DENSO.

Could not find it & have replaced with a 1KZTE A/T
    Nameplate data is
    89661-26170
    175800-1335 12V
    Make DENSO

Now the ride is OK with following issues
Engine IDLE RPM are little higher i.e. around 900-950 RPM which I presume are due to A/T ECU
Engine Manual Choke Button is not working.

I have not given a long run to my RIG,
    My question is
What issues I can encounter if any.
Or This ECU will serve the purpose

    Have a nice day

Manual choke button has nothing to do with ECU and Idle rpms can be higher because of some input missing to the ecu from transmission.

    @spectra
Manual choke button signals ecu to increase rpm and it sends signal to fuel pump which increases fuel & hence rpm.
Regarding increase idle speed. No input is missing as same behaviour on another manual ecu which I borrowed. Also another automatic ecu also increases idle speed.

It is better to get the correct ECU for manual transmissions, if you can find it.

ECUs for automatic transmissions do all sorts of adjustments when they get a signal that the transmission is going to shift, in order to provide a smooth shift. Those maps will not work properly with a manual transmission.

Agreed. The auto ECU will work if there is no other choice, but sooner or later you will find the correct ECU. Good Luck!

Is your throttle position sensor properly adjusted? EFI replaced the normal choke to IDLE UP switch. As far as I remember, I tried both ecus on my manual 1kz but never had any issues.

Manual ECUs use a different shift logic, with a delay in throttle liftoff to cause a delayed and more gentle transitional overrun to save fuel and reduce emissions. Automatic ECUs reduce fuel and retard timing to secure a smooth shift and prolong clutchpack life.

    Dear @Saaduk
the throttle position sensor is properly adjusted.
I gave 200km + Run on this A/T ECU last week. It is working fine but found out some minor issues
At start Engine Idle RPM around 950 RPM & after a few seconds come to 900 RPM.
When I shift to 1st or Rev gear, RPM drop to 650 RPM which are correct with Manual ECU.

Any after effects on Engine Timing on prolong use of A/T issue.

had it repaired but lasted one week only.
Now the repair guy says it is beyond repair.
Also you are stuck in middle of nowhere, if it is dead.
So now I have another A/T ECU as spare in my ride

Nothing major I suspect, just suboptimal performance. Besides, an A/T ECU is better than NO ECU at all.

Aqeel bro you must try and i hope you will soon find the manual ECU i believe. as no match to manual transmission in 4X4 applications.
also try to ask some one in japan to fetch it for you .

@joinami Bhai, I am trying to find & get one from Dubai. Agreed, there is no match of Manual Transmission in Off-roading.

I waited 2 years or so for a M/T ride.
