Default BJ 60 swapped with 2jz transmission problem

Guys please need some advice for my BJ 60 1983 Landcruiser in which I have put a 2 jz and didn't change the gear (5 speed forward original). Engine is fine but I am not satisfied with the engine gear compatibility and the power which I was expecting from 2jz egine. First there is issue with the adaption plate (Hosing) which on repeated repair still gives problem. Secondly should I go for any other gear and do I need to do anything about differentials (Hissa)??? so that the power is not compromised and I also get some more speed. Somehow Jeep is lagging and not that responsive. Desperately need your suggestions and advises/

That is very true but its better then my really messed B3 engine. this engine was in my range and due to my lack of knowledge, it so happened. I would have loved to put a 12HT but budget was the issue

You are probably looking for your Toyota Land Cruiser to behave like a Toyota Supra.

That wont happen. A 3B, Whether it was messed up or not was lot better than a 2JZ.

a 1uz was a better choice in same budget.. and a 3B could be rebuilt to as new

anyways.. I dont want to advise you to spend more on re gearing diffs with this engine.. keep using it as is.. or go for a good 1uz swap

Hi bj 60 it's to heavy over 2 ton. The only is
    New gearbox
    Transfer box
    Rear diff
All of the above have to be changed for bigger bhp items.

remove the manual transmission and mount the toyota prado 1996 4wd automatic transmission with the 2 jz and then you will see the performance out of your cruiser. no diff changes are required for that if you change the transmission for more info call at 0311-5135516

This is bad. But done is done, just forget the past. My assessments are as

    1. No need to think about the diff or tube changing. That will be another fuss adding to the existing problem.

    2. 2JZ will always a be a problem for a 2.5 ton heavy vehicle with any gear.

    3. You are in a so called trouble situation, just take a bold step, sell the 2JZ and overhaul the existing 3B which is a monster engine in low gears and the best as far as economy is concerned.

    4. A 3B can be overhauled to 100% as it gets sleeves and keeps it on zero sized pistons.

    5. 12HT is powerful but again not recommended unless you own a petrol pump. It doesn't give any better average than 5.5 or max 6 ltrs in a ltr.

    6. And lastly, if you need power only in low gears and do not bother about the top speed, you can even go for a 2B as well. In the early models of 60's, toyota has put 2B's as original engines. It will be less expensive to purchase also.

    Regards

It may be that your engine (2JZ) isn't in that good a condition. Is it the later VVTi or an earlier version? In a 1.5 ton Pajero, the 2JZ needs to be wound up a little bit to give good progress, but when it goes, it goes HARD. Even in a 2.5-ton vehicle (which it isn't, it's closer to 2 tons), the 2JZ shouldn't be sluggish by any stretch of the imagination. You can look up the power and torque specs on both engines to get an idea of what to expect.

I know it wasn't a good choice but whats done is done. @Noman I dont have the old 3B, i old it when I was changing the engine.
What will be the cost of a 1uz swap? and what about landcruiser 2's gear price as atta said???
sami...Its the old one i am afraid but engine is perfect I think. ALl the problem is with gear and as everybody is saying, poor choice of engine for a cruiser
