Default Toyota Surf Sport R 4x4 Help

Salam pws, just need some help regarding 4wd of surf sports R.
Im pretty new to this ride, before that we had a toyota Hilux 1989 (not sure of it, but it was having leaf suspension on both sides front and rear), all we need to do is lock the front wheels clutch and H4 then 1st gear and ready for up hills..
now our frnd just bought a Toyota hilux Surf Sports R. its automatic tranny (s*cks),
the thing is they all are on-road drivers, im the only one off-roader so i'll drive it up-hills...
now the prob is it has automatic transmission.. -- So how to get it 4x4 ??
    1- crank the engine,
2- press brake and put it in N (neutral)
3- shift the 4x4 gear knob to H4 and press the button on the knob namely 4x4.
4- put it in D and drive the SUV gets very heavy to drive feels like the tyres are jammed..
    the instrument cluster shows 0----0
    !
    0----0
sorry for the numeric sketcht :p .. the rear wheels shows a green light but the front wheels dont ! why ??
Guru help need to know before taking it for a ride..
Dont know about the model, all i know is this..

please crawl under the vehicle and check if a drive shaft is connected to the transfer case for front differential. - click here
post picture of your ride and ask any member in that thread for correct sequence & precautions to drive an auto 4x4.

Open up the hood and snap a picture of engine bay during day light that will help us help you.

Usually L1/L2 is selected when going off road and then drive in D or D1 depending on your vehicle. please share year & engine variant of your vehicle to ascertain if its a CVT 4x4 or a conventional 4x4 with an auto transmission the gear shifter must be different in either case

Capsat its not cvt im sure, and secondly im sure about the the shaft about the front wheels, the shaft is connected, but the thing is wrong with the Electronics. the gear lever normal auto shifter, and small one for the 4x4 is 3 way..
lower position is L4, center position is neutral and the top position is H4. and there's a button on it namely 4x4..
    when i press that button a solenoid engages (sounds Taaaak) from the front side;
    there are normal shift option the gear lever, P - N - D - R - L and L2 ( not confirmed )
and there a button on the climate control namely ECT power and Econo. ( whats this ?? )
i shifted the car in to D and pushed the 4x4 button on the small knob, and shifted at H4 while the SUV was in N position and fired, and shifted D and started moving, the SUV felt heavy like Bedford, the tires were felt they are jamming or just kinda burn-outing.... any idea how to do it ??
