    8-9.5 maybe 10
Normal condition with 3 L police auction aprox price?
    6-8.5

Price depends on how eager is seller to sell. Ppl demand even 15 lacs but this is what market price is

Do not buy the one with 2L turbo engine .
go for one with 1KZ or B series engines.

The problem while searching for jeeps is that you will find mostly tempered vehicles either body change or book of some other auctioned vehicle etc. try to avoid auctioned vehicles as most of them are tempered or atleast abused.

What I did is I made search and understood how to decode VIN (Vehicle identification number) or in layman terminology biscuit plate. Although its some what tedious job to understand but if you can do it chances of getting cheated will reduce considerably. For your help here are the codes for Prado 94-95 models:

    1. KZJ71G-PGT it stands for EX grade auto transmission 3 door having 1KZ engine
    2. KZJ71G-MGT EX manual
    3. KZJ71G-PET LX auto
    4. KZJ71G-MET LX manual
    5. KZJ71G-MNT SX manual

    1. 90-93 models came with 2LTE 2446 cc engine with square shaped dashboard. Price range 6-7. This engine has got in built fault of head crack. You will see that most of the owners of this model change this engine to 1KZTE 2978 cc, which has got enough torque but it is fuel thirsty. But in my opinion only the engine change is not enough unless you change its gearbox and differentials as well.

    2.
Three door prado are well known for over turning damaging pillars, the reason is its width to height ratio, if you want a 3 door prado I would suggest you to go for 1996 model onwards RX or RZ, its simply pocket rocket very handy in city drive as well with good fuel economy as compared to 5 door versions and it can accomodate family of 3-4 persons and luggage. New shape and good styling if I have to go for a 3 door thats the only model I will consider.

    3.
Three door versions looks nice and its really a very well performer in offroading but when you consider its practicality for trips to northern areas it fails due to the reason that it has same engine like five door models with far less space.

Ya I consider it, as more reliable and cheap spare parts and good for speed between 80-90km/h on highway, make sure it have 5 fwd transmission and no body change. Check the link of Toyota Landcruiser Data Library and you can see Prado is light/Medium Duty wheres LC(incl BJ70) are mentioned as heavy duty.

well its a long story ...to cut it short 2L is under power for this vehicle with inherited Head Cracking issue specially in turbo versions due to excessive EGT .
1KZ is a good option but its a bit thirtsy on fuel .
Police auction also have PZ engine (little brother of 1HZ) thats also a good option.
any how i am having 70 series here with a V8 |diesel motor and its really a beast.

Dear Brother, I would strongly urge you to go for a LC with 3B or 3L engine in this model as these are reliable engines with great sturdiness and proven performance over long periods. They are simply engineered so most diesel mechanic can repair them even with simple spare parts even in a wilderness.

The 1KZ and the 2LT are both turboed as well as EFi. They are no match to the 3B and the 3L in terms of reliability and engineering. They have a frail legacy as compared to these two proven beasts. They are more thirsty in terms of fuel and require more maintenance. Although the 1 Kz will give you a higher pickup in terms of acceleration. Both these light duty engines are also not as useful in terms of towing loads when compared to the 3B and the 3L.

However, please keep in mind not to buy a vehicle with any sort of alteration in terms of engine, gearbox, or body. The vehicles with 3B will have a code starting from BJ and the ones with 3L will have a code starting from LJ. Further scrutiny of the registration book will reveal their true state of affairs. Hope that you are able to find a good one.

Very nice suggestions and if there is such a vehicle in market expect to pay 1.2-1.5 million.

This is not an easy job at all it better to buy cheap vehicle and make it perfect as you will not find a clean vehicle
