    Default SUV lookout help needed!

Assalam u alaikum! I am looking for a well kept 7 seater SUV which should serve as a daily service vehicle as well as be suitable for light off-roading and long and short voyages out of Lahore. The most tricky part is budget limitation of 1 million rupees max. Please suggest / refer. Shall be highly grateful. Jazak Allah.

7 seater SUV, daily drive, light offroading with capping of 1 m Rs., really tough question, try to find some pajero 2.8l diesel a decent one will be around 1.1-1.2m. Dont go for 2.5l 5dr as its underpower.

Thumb rule, if you want petrol no 7 seater SUV should be less than 3.4~3.5l, for diesel it should not be less than 2.8l.

This is the minimum capacity to run a seven 7 SUV fully loaded with huge air resistance at 120km/h.

I am looking for an SUV for myself as well and it has been almost a month now that I am not able to find any in good condition which is reasonably priced. Most of the Pajero's in market are with body change or swaped engine and the sellers lie to extreme to sell them. Most of the Prado's and Vigo's are with tempered ODO reading and those which are with actual mileage are extremely overpriced. I know a guy who is selling his Pajero in total genuine condition and mileage but he is asking 1.65 Million for it with very little room for negotiations. He is in Lahore and I am in Karachi these days. Will purchased that on my next visit to Lahore (Inshallah)

And if you do end up getting one for 1 Million be ready to spend decent amount of time and money on it. Best of luck with your purchase.

dear engine swap is a better thing for an old pajero but not the body swap. because these old girls were been through so much so how it's engine can perform well even an overhaul engine cannot justify the performance , only a good engine coming out of a half cut is better option. i too have a pajero with a engine swap and i am very much satisfied and happy with not a singal drop of oil leakege and full of torch and power MasAllah

Forget it, do not waste your energy here and there. YOU CANNOT GET A 7 SEATER SUV IN/UNDER 1 MILLION.

I spend almost 3 months searching for a good clean 7 seater/5 door suv and few newer model 3 door. I could not find a single one. A good clean surf, 80 series cost more then 18lacs, cheaper ones needed atleast 2-3 lacs work from new tires engine work suspension etc.

1.65M for an extremely well kept Pajero is not wrong. People pay that much.

An amnesty cleared unregistered 95 exceed was sold for 18 lacs here. I saw the vehicle and it was literally neww.

A lawyer friend has paid 16 lacs for a diesel pajero

on the other hand, a manual 5 door exceed was sold for 7 lacs in sargodha a few days ago. jeep needed engine over haul and a few other things

I agree that 1.65 Million for an extremely neat and genuine Pajero 1996 model is not bad but the only thing in my mind is that if I am getting a Pajero in 1.65 Million than why not add some more funds and go for 1996-1998 model Prado which definitely is much better than Pajero. I did visit couple of showrooms on Khalid Bin Waleed Road here in Karachi but did not find any decent ride which was worth the price.

I found cars to be a little reasonably priced in this part of Pakistan as compared to Islamabad but most of the SUV's I inspected here are not in very good condition. The SUV's were much better in Lahore and Islamabad.

agreed. currently i own both. Pajero ka apna maza hy aur prado ka apna. Pajero went out of competition for a decade but now, it is back in demand. People look for a pajero. trends change. Everyone doesn't have that much flexibility in their budget that they can add 2-3 lacs.

I have customers who cannot even add 25K to their budget.

AND let me remind you, neat clean prados are not less than 2M mark

I have purchased this. 1993 MODEL GLS. The body is exceptionally clean. No touch up whatsoever. Interior is very nice. Suspension is outstanding. Not too sure about engine. Want to get it checked thoroughly. Please suggest who should I take this SUV to get a detailed inspection of the engine and transmission. Had to go over my budget a bit.
