For an economical result and normal road use you can even use the Toyota 2L engine used in Hiace which comes both in 4cyl 2400 cc and 4cyl 2800 cc

The best and most powerful engine is the Nissan Patrol 1990-92 model which is 6cyl 4200 cc, Its gonna be expensive but then you jeep is going to be the thoughest and meanest in the next Gawadar Rally.
Brother just to correct you a bit.

    1. I have never heard of any 3L turbo versions. Only 3L is available in Pakistan which is 2800cc.
    2. 3B is 3450cc and not 3600cc.
    3. Toyota 2L tubo is only 2400cc and not 2800cc.
    4. It will be nearly impossible to fit a 6 cylinder diesel in your engine compartment as the size and weight of Nissan's engine is more than that of the available space and secondly u r going to ruin your stock suspension.

My suggestion would be u go for 3CT, 2L, 2L turbo or 1KZ TE and nothing else.

If diesel it is you're gonna put in your rig, you already have recommendations from various experienced users. Here're my two cents.

Why go for a diesel, when you have patrol alternatives. I'd say go for a decent Toyota Patrol Engine, a wide variety available in Shershah Market, ranging from 3Rz to Vz, and the legendary UFz and FZ engines 4000 and 4500 cc respectively. The two later produce from staggering 190-225 hp at 4500 rpm more than enough to quench the offroading thirst. The price tag, i'm not quite aware of.

Since you'll be paying for the engine and labour, i'd say, think thorough and make your mind.
