    What to buy: Land Cruiser 80 series vs Pajero Mk3 3.2 litre?

    Respected Members,
    By the Grace of the Almighty, I have sold my Nissan Patrol and am now exploring my options, i would like to know the pros and cons of buying a LC 80 series 1HDT and also the pros and cons of buying a Pajero 3.2 litre Mk3.
    Also would like your suggestions and opinions, I require a 7 seater, dual ac vehicle in a range of a little below 2 mil.
    Your suggestions and opinions will be highly appreciated

    Diff Between LC-80 & Pajero is like Oranges & Apple

    First of all it's very rare that you will find a Gen-3 Pajero under 20 mil... yeah but you can get 2001 pajero Gen-2 the Wide Fenders Version, that is beautiful model...

    LC-80 Pros
    -> Powerful
    -> Parts Easily Available
    -> Rugged Vehicle

    LC-80 Cons
    -> Expensive on Maintenance
    -> Expensive Spare Parts & engine parts
    -> Gives 7-8 Km/lts in local if engine is in good condition
    -> Comes with 4 Speed Auto Tranny or 5 Speed Manual
    -> Handling on narrow roads is difficult due to huge size

    Pajero 3.2 DI-D/2.8 TDi Pros
    -> Easy to maintain
    -> Comes with 5 Speed Auto Tranny(3.2DI-D), 4 Speed Auto Tranny (2.8TDi) or 5 Speed Manual Tranny
    -> Gives 8-10 KM/Ltr in local on both engines 3.2 or 2.8
    -> Roomy enough with a versatile interior
    -> Able to handle both rough roads and moderate 4x4 trails very well
    -> Able to handle tight and twisty mountain roads very well
    -> Equipped with a suspension that is comfortable and offers very good body-control, and that can resist chassis pitching and yawing when you do emergency lane-changing maneuvers

    Pajero Cons
    -> Some Parts are difficult to find but can be arranged.... Otherwise 80% parts are available in market & cheaper than land cruiser
    -> Resale

    Yes, i am certain, if you go get 1HD-T overhauled it will cost you a fortune that will be around 125-150k and in 150-170k you can get a kabuli 3.2 DI-D or 3.5 GDI in lush condition.

    Thank you very much for the information and time, it's still a difficult decision because the price tag on both have quite a big difference, a cruiser will be around 13 and the jero, well this one is 17 ish, the rest are 20 plus

    LC 80 1HD-T will suit you better. Bit of a brutish truck itself along with the drive. Retains the drivability of the Nissan.

    Am exploring my options in the cruiser, fine cars are expensive. But still continuing my search, Insha'Allah will buy a vehicle after Eid and share it here

    Look for the "Multi Valve" 1HD-FT. The other, which is 1HD-T(Glorified 1HZ with a whiner) is bit of slug with no real power in the lower band.
