Default Need replacement shocks for 1996 Toyota Surf (ssr-g), need help!

    Fellow Pakwheelers,

I hope you are all doing well. I needed the forum member's help in solving a problem. I currently own a 1996 Toyota Surf (ssr-g) which needs its shocks replaced, just the shocks/struts, the springs are fine. I am currently in the US and was thinking of bringing back the replacement shocks/struts with me. However, in the US the Toyota Surf is sold under the name of Toyota 4runner, hence parts for the 4runner are available, and not for the Surf. My question is, can I buy replacement shocks/struts from the US that are for the 4runner, and will they fit my Surf?

Also, which brand shocks/struts do you all recommend for the Surf?

I'd appreciate any advice and help!

Ok thanks, I was looking to get the Bilstein ones, do you happen to know what model number of the Bilstein shocks I would need? Also, have you heard of Rancho shocks? Are they any good? And what about Boge? I found Boge shocks on rockauto.com that specifically state that they are for the toyota surf, so was thinking about picking those up if they are good quality since they state they are for the toyota surf (dont want to end up picking up shocks for a 4runner and them end up not fitting when I bring them back with me)

Thanks but getting OEM Toyota at this point in time will be difficult since I'm coming back very soon. The Bilstein ones I can pick up very easily
