Thread: TLC II Prado 91 2LT spilling oil ...

    Default TLC II Prado 91 2LT spilling oil ...

    Salaams lads.

    My rig is spilling oil all over the engine now. Have to refill at least a litre every week. Have replaced the seals atleast 3 times, but no use. The Ustad jee says that the engine has served me well, and that i should let go of it and install a 1kz for good.

    Any recommendation to cater the issue at hand.

    From what I understand, your engine is generating too much oil pressure and the seals can't withstand it. Look into that, there must be a fault somewhere. I can't tell for sure without looking or testing the machine for that matter.
    1kz is a good engine but it is extremely thirsty, 6-7km/l. if mileage is of concern to you., then look into it and fix it, if not then swap.

    6-7 is what i get from my 2LT as well. Plus, the rig has become somewhat sluggish despite the turbo charger been replaced with a kabuli one, and nozzles with new ones a few months ago. The engine has a blow too.

    The only thing that worries me is that the engine i'm getting here is of surf. It is a 1kz nevertheless, but the difference comes in the size of the chamber of the prado. Also, the concerning point is that of the card matching with the gearbox. Ustad jee says, "Main subh sambhal loonga". Lets hope he live upto his words.

    No need to rush it, 1kz is a common engine. Look around and you shall find one for the prado. Because if this has even a slight difference and the guy alters things, your jeep becomes a waste then

    Ps 2LT if healthy, should do like 11 ish in long
