@ CharterAli..
Ronie and some of the other guys out there are old pros when it comes to 4x4 rallys. For them a "real rally" needs to be at least 200 kilometers long!
This event was organized by the enthusists and was for the enthusists, thats why you saw some serious players out there. The best part of this bunch is that they are all friends and look after each other but on the track and off the track.
Defender really is not suitable for this kind of baby rally, but hey it was still very thrilling and exciting to be driving it and I would do it again.
Down the line I do want to compete in one of the longer rallys, as they are a test of not just driver skills and agility but of endurance of both the car and driver as well. I think Defender can do better in them.
By the way on my last run, I clocked in 5.12 which was good 8 seconds better than my first run. I am sure with practise I could bring the time down by another 5 to 6 secons or so...maybe next time.
Oh and , Asad Khoro with a time of 4 minutes 30 or some seconds won the B category was driving a Vigo.
Another novice driver in a smilar Vigo clocked in at 5:40..so its not just the car but driver skills that matters.
