    racer....
    i have the same engine... diesel 3.0 1996.
    how much did the supercharger cost from usa, and how was the performance, was it reliable, i hear one should not do alterations to engines, as it reduces reliabilty.
    did u have the 3 door or the 5 door. i have the 5 door.

    Sorry but I had the a 3.4L petrol supercharged not the diesel version. The Diesel has Turbo which can be upgraded too and very easily. The performance from the S/C was were relaible and it was on the vehicle for 2 years before totaled. As this is not an alteration to the engine itself but to the intake system of the of the engine rather. When ever you modify something there are risks involved and taking part in a rally is a very similar risk. Cause your vehcile is not designed for that abuse.

    As for the Parts I am glad you sourced them out, yes at times things are cheaper through certain dealers. The Abu dhabi dealer being cheaper coz it acquires stuff from the USA and due to Fixed $ value to the dirham prices tend to remain constant.

    You can place a bigger turbo with more airflow and gain more power, but you will have to chaneg a few other things with it too.

    @F1
    perhaps he can start off by fitting a larger r 2nd intercooler to his existing setup, and fit a les restrictive exhaust system which will help the engine "breathe" a bit better before he goes for more boost. what do you say?

    if we can help regarding the trip to DXB let us know

    @Storm
    Rather then 2 intercoolers one large one is better, you will have less boost loss. And yes those are some of things he would need to start the upgrade, but it would be worth every bit of it
