    Default For.. Storm, Shaani, Voyager:

    As a project, is it possible to take say a Fiat Uno, Toyota Crolla, or any of these smaller cars like old Toyota Starlet, heck why not even a Bettle and convert them in to an OFF ROAD rally prepared 4x4?

    Here are some pics for thoughts and feed back..

    One problem, The 3sgte was made for FWD setup cars or either AWD but with the fwd configuration. Its not that you cannot use it as RWD setup you will need to reangle the engine and do some modifications to the exhaust and get a RWD tranny modifications to be able fit the drive shaft. So do keep that in mind, but I would say go for a 1Jz-gte rather then the 3sgte or better yet go for the 3T-GTE which is a 1.8L inline 4 this will fit like a glove in the Te71 or you can have the 1G-GTE 2.0L inline 6, yes you read it right 6 cylinder 2.0L both these engines have the power to keep you stick to the seat.

    The bold part sent some chill through my body... WOW... all I can do now is pray that no 1 else buy that car before me & once I have that car... 1G-GTE is the 1 I'll install inshallah

    @Sameer

    I feel almost scared to reply to you, with F1 around but:

    TE71 has an I-4 setup with lots of room either side so a V6 (2 inline 3 cyls) would easily fit. It's possible that a V8 (2 inline 4's ) would also fit with a bit of relocation & massaging.

    Personal choice is the V6 but i'd have to check for sump/road clearnace. if it was an issue he could go for dry sump lubrication, i'm sure it'll clear the hood from the top.

    As for the reasoning behind a V6 instead of a High torque V8,... Iforce V8 is a heavy mother! he'd get better torque (and less weight) by going forced induction in the V6. Cheapest solution would be a cobbled (small) turbo & intercooler setup running low boost so as not to have to risk damaging the internals whilst still getting power from lower down in the rev range (it shoudl spool up around 1500 rpm if he want's a great laugh & easy drivability (he wouldn't want a monster kicking in boost at 4000 rpm in a turn....LOL)

    if the 1G-GTE is a 2.0 I-6 that would give each cyl approx 333 ,which would lead me to ask what the bore & stroke are, because if they are close to what i'm hoping (large bore & short stroke) you can fondle the hell out of it internally and get the sucker to rev like crazy!

    You are right regarding engine fitment but there is a problem with the V6 from the camry it is transversly mounted meaning horizontally and is setup for FWD and TE71 fortunatly is FR setup.

    The reason for my engine selection is to keep the cars balance closer to stock and light to be able to participate in rallies and track purposes. Meaning it will be nimble and a killer. But if Drag is the purpose then more power the better
