    To my buddy Jeepaholic, I wish you were here we could go offroading together. Have BBQ, swim in the river. Last time i went to the river a friend caught a fish with his harpoon.

    To my hunter friend Saad Bhai, hunting for birds here. In French the bird is called outarde also known as the bustard. Bustards have long legs and big toes nest on the ground. With a long wing base. By the way have you found a over and under for me? I will be back for vacations shortly. Off roading and hunting go hand in glove. We are planning a trip to Kashmir I hope you can join us if that works out.

    @KMB
    So you hunted bustard, this bird is known to have some spcial effects in its meat, that is why Arabs come here in Pakistan to hunt it.

    AOA,

    Dear KhakiMB I wanted to know, how much would a good 1KZ-T engine cost with complete 4x4 transmission in Pindi or Peshawar. I went to SherShah here in Karachi and the gents were asking 65-70K for the engine alone and another 35k for the complete transmission assembly.

    regards,
    Hamza

    AOA,

    Dear Hamza, 1KZ costs about Rs.65,000/- in Rawalpindi. The same engine was for about Rs.150,000 before.

    Again 65,000 is the asking price. You of course have room to negotiate. Now I am not sure if the price for 1KZ-T is the same. If anyone knows the difference in price please do let us know.

    IKZ is an amazing engine. I wanted to place it my MB by I was told that serious modification would be required.

    Nice thread...
    @KhakiMB
    Regarding your jeep project, I would advice you to get rid of the oil-bath type "air cleaner", and get the hi-lux or some other spacially-compatible paper-element filter type container installed instead!
    Particle sizes which oil-bath air-filters let pass are not good for turbo motors. Either they should be used in relatively clean environments, or should be very properly designed OE (orig. Equip.). These local variants are totally in-appropriate...

    Dear Saad,

    I have not had this bustard meat. The one that I have tried is ‘neel-gai’. Which is found
    near the border area. I must say the beast has excellent meat. I am changing the gearbox and differentials to Rocky on the MB. Very unfortunate, it won’t be original now, but it is the need of the day.

    Dear Jafo,

    Thanks for encouragement. Just a little fun with our toys.

    Dear Msialvi,

    Well I would like to taste it. Probably in a few months, after I buy an over and under.

    Dear Farooque,

    Interesting update on the oil air cleaner. Do you know which paper-element filter types would work best with a 3-CT engine and the cost?

    Dear Saad Bhai,

    I am going to keep the original Kamani. They were repaired and i am told that the drive is better with the original article. What is your suggestion on the matter?

    Dear Msialvi,

    I wanted to get a holand & holand, I have been told to start off with a Turkish and then move on. The turkish can be bought locally.

    whoever told u about the turkish gun is right. turkish guns have proved themselves the fine worksmanship. my many fellow shooters r using these guns for more than three years and r quite satisfied with their performance.
