@adnan you are most welcome, please tell us in detail about the usage of your offroader, in percentage.
@shani606 yes it is a perfect project to be suggested depending on his usage, i.e 95% offroad= suzuki jeep. (the most capable offroader, i can challenge)

I must say a very good choice. The suzuki is an amazing offroader and probably the best value for money. It is the king of sand and mud. Jeepaholic and Shani696 are right on the buck here!!!!!!

Bro that project would be out of the world, how much does the engine gear axles of vitara cost? it had excelent power to weight ratio in vitara, and you can imagine the ratio in sj410. Go for it!!!!

Hey back, sorry for the delay, the student is back, its just so --king frustration to have ur net down, i have weekends as off days, but my net wasnt working, so again in the class from office. Ok here it is as i recall the things my teachers enquired about.
    1) Jeep as in 4X4(not jeep the brand)
    2) usage offroad will be minimal, as stupid as it may sound, i have a back condition, but still want to own a roughie.
    3) Budget depends, as being new(literally illetirate regarding jeeps) i dont know where to start or how much would anything cost, lets say at the max Rs 400000(MAX MEANS MAX and includes the every thing, even the diesel).
    4) should stand apart, i mean in its own class,
    5) dependable, means can go any where with not much of hassle.
    Thanks waiting for replies

ok, as i have been going thru all of u ppl's posts on other forums related to offloaders and u all seem to be die hard fans of landy(as u ppl call it) defender. but hey if i buy it straight away(if i find one) i wont be able to learn about 4x4's , which i really want to. wanna learn, so that i totally drive enjoyment of the best and all. So shani, lets see if u have time, start from where, hmmmm, what is a 4x4 all about, its engines, body, chassis, suspension etc etc, what is good and what is bad, how to build one and how to buy one, where to buy, who to ask for help( for buying). I am as layman as any one can be.

    @adnan2709
Thats a good question...hmmm..where should i start from....well if ur asking me than i should tell u that m an adventure loving person.who likes hunting and for that u have to go off-road i mean not the normal roads....there r big bumps, there r small streams, there are small hills, there is mud and there are sometimes bolders....so in order to pass through all these terrrains i needed something which could pass them easily without any difficulty...for that i needed a 4x4 and not a normal car....4x4 means the vehicle whose all 4 wheels can get power from the engine and it is done through a transfer box attached to the main transmission box and 2 shafts, rear shafts gives pwer to the 2 rear wheels and and the front shaft gives power to the front 2 wheels when 4x4 gear is engaged...in older vehicles it was manual and now most of the vehicles have all time 4x4 ...normal cars or what we call4x2 means 4 wheels and power in only 2 wheels from the engine...either front 2 or the rear 2...it has more ground clearance than a regular cars as u have seen it..
My first 4x4 was a suzuki SJ410 back in 1994 (i think so)....in which i did a blunder that i put huge tyres and wheels ultimately during a hunting trip my gear box and the rear shaft screwed....so that was a lesson for me not to put burdon on a machine exceeding its limits......
After that i made a BJ40 which was an amazing 4x4 a 6cylinder diesel engine with an electronic gear box....it never let me down but one time during a wild boar chase we had to go into Peas Field which is always full of bumps.....without any exaggeration it was so bumpy that we jumped 2 to 3 feet in the air and i got disappointed with its suspension bcoz it was leaf spring or what we say in punjabi "KAMANI"......leaf springs are good for carrying loads but they r not at all smooth or comfortable.....

after that i searched alot for a comfortable 4x4 which most of my off-roader friends recommended was to buy a coil spring suspension off-roader.......and i had three options at that time either for an LJ70 land cruiser, M151 mutt or a defender...out of which i chose defender bcause it was available in soft top or u can get it soft top easily...all u have to do is get the roll bars and soft top made remove the roof and change the front screen hinges.....i changed its engine from 200tdi to 1kz toyota as it gives more power.....

Aaj ka lesson itna hi (if u have any questions feel free to ask ) (just kidding)

m attaching the pics of my gone 4x4 and ofcourse an M151 but that's not mine...

ok here is what i see my self in, a toughie 4x4. with good engine and high performance.
but let weigh 2 options now,
    1. go for a defender, where to find it what things to check, dont want the seller to make a fool outta me. ur in lahore, if u can help.
    2. go for a cheaper machine and try things on it, learn and then move on to more complex machines. again i will be requiring ur help to find an appropriate vehicle.
