    Default Jeep * * * Half-yearly Maintenance

    I came back from Dubai on 16th and checked that my Willys half-yearly maintenance is due. As I have short time after enjoying one week in Dubai therefore I drafted the work plan and took my MB for it’s the maintenance as following:

    Started with the suspension check up. All the leaf Springs along with the Shock Observers were checked. Changed all the 24 bushings for Leave Springs. I was little concerned about the Leave Spring Plates so asked the guy to fabricate a custom made with thicker plates. This whole work took 5 hours and I was done for the day.

    Next day (yesterday) I went for the following work.

    1: Air Filter Change.
    2: Fuel Filter Change
    3: Oil Filter Change
    4: Engine Oil Change
    5: Gear Box Oil Change
    6: Battery Water Level Check

    Then I went for Wheel Balancing and Alignment. After these maintenance works now my Willys is all set for the up coming Spring/Summer Season and reporting for duty to cruise up all the way to Khunjrab Pass.

    My o my Half-Yearly check is really something to mess-up. After that hassle it would be hard to get-up. And the vehicle owner himself may need a check-up. Only a car lover can do, others might fed-up!

    Good photograohy too... I like posts like this, keep it up!

    Its pretty clean ride too, just noticed

    BTW... Is it a MUST to unbolt it and check after every six months?

    @Fedd

    I hv seen people driving Jeep and no maintenance for years until some thing brakes down.

    With me the case is different and I don't feel like driving a Jeep if it's not well kept or is not being properly maintained.

    For any off-roader it’s always advisable that it should be examined regularly. What I did is my own way of keeping and maintaining the Jeep.

    @Javed bhai

    Which gear oil you choose. Why drop drive shaft to change gear oil? Or was it for greasing?

    @Porsche_maker

    Adding up oil is the least care one can do for his car's gear box.
    BTW typicaly gear oil survives around 25K~40K Km in cars.

    @Voyager

    Bhai g which brand Oil u used in gear box & difrential? branded one or C Oil from loose packing ?
