no doubt toyota makes some of the best 4x4 around. I love ALL of the cruisers & surfs ever made by them.

But the rav 4 is a but of a disappointment,... but great for small families and girls.

I have had Misubihi Pajero, Jeep Wrangler back in 1995, and currently I am driving SURF 1996-7. I think Toyota is the best so far, SURF has the torque and the horsepower, in my opinion SURF is a great 4X4.

    Well,
According to My experince Toyota is No.7 in Ranking (reg off road) & No.1 in resale
My rating is based upon my hard core 4wd experience of 17 Years.
    1-Willys (Mb or M38)
    2-Land Rover Defender (90 or 110)
    3-Wrangler
    4-Dihutsu Rocky
    5-Commando Jeep (M151)
    6-Suzuki Sj 410 (Soft Top)
7-Toyota Land Cruiser (RKR or RMR) Or Bj40
    & so onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Although Toyota has a very good resale market in Pakistan but no match for Willys or Land Rover. They were born to do offroad while Toyota is a Luxury 4x4 but "Cant Make its Own Way" Like Willys Does.
& Landy "One Life Live It".
    Regards,
    Fahad

NO doubt Toyota is good in Offroading n on Road but i think BJ-40 is only good for Serious Off Roading. Others are far more just Status Symbol here.

NO match with Defender n Jeep

Regarding Paris dakkar rally i willsay tis a monopoly not fair race as, there r many other manufacturers better than mitsu but always mitsu wins, i think its all a game and its fixed rally paid by mitsu to bring name to pajero, i owned an intercololer turbo 1990 model it was a big disappointment for me and its offroad capability sucked, 4wheel gets non functional in autohub models my was autohub some times it enaged and some times not it was too loo as compared to landcruisers and hilux or any other brand.
the engine used by mitsu in paris dakkar is not availble in market models not even the suspension those cars r like f1 specially designed.

i like 6 cylinder turbo LC's but they are not the end of the world.
Talking about "turbo wagon" agreed its a flop model.if u travel on motorway at 120. the engine heats up in no time and gives up. Later models improved alot.

    few offroaders i like include

    @SLR
those are VW Taros not surfs or Hiluxes. what is odd is that as far as i know they only came in FWD, not ideal for offroading.
