Present day Rovers and Cruisers have no comparison to their counterparts of the past mainy because Off-roaders have gone sissy. The target market is urbanites so SUVs (something between a car n off-roader) rule the roost these days.
@Storm! bro judging a vehicle on the basis of Pak Army using it is a big mistake:) Deals in army depend on who pays the highest commission. U would be amazed to know the import price of Defenders from Turkey for Army use in the beginning as they were not manufactured locally. Guess it was around US$ 22 grand without any taxes and for an obsolete 1997 model.
We all know what happened in case of Agosta submarines (Naval Chief took commissions) n Yasoob Truck n so many others. Yasoob was a monster custom built for army and they opted for Nissan instead. So cruel! I know people who were on field tests of Mercedes, Nissan and Yasoob. Nissan was the first to go bust n Yasoob outclassed Mercedes. Yasoob is still used by army although in very small numbers. it looks awsome. Ah man! when will we get rid of this rent seeking behaviour.......
