Default Time for a new one RAV4 or Hyundai SantaFe

    Hi all,

Its time for a new car 4 wifey. Currently she is driving Hyundai Tuscon V6, 2.7L.

Short lists are Rav4 and SantaFe. I personally like SantaFe for the features offered. Rav4 is having better resale.

    Input required.........

    Thanks

I wanted to buy her an Accord, but she was too addicted to my Pathfinder. So I had to buy her a 4x4. Ended up buying a 2005 Hyundai Tucson 2.7L. Its not an offraoding machine but a cross between sedan and 4x4.

the tucson (pronounced "toosawn") offer great value for money and build quality but i'd still go for the new rav4 as it just looks that much better.

    Storm,

Have you checked new SantaFe. Apart from 2.7L 185 BHP, (3.3L is not available in Doha) its great.

It will not be for off roading. My Company's provided Path Finder is good enough for desert 240 BHP with 3.5L. Best part is the free repair and maintenance............

no doubt the santafe is a great machine but i find the new rav4 more appealing.

yes i'm aware they look very similar and offer about the same things but i'd still rather hae the rav4.

what are your requirements? safety (check NCAP ratings) or resale etc.?

Resale....... well its always a factor when you are living in Gulf. You never know when is your last month......

I am more interested in Safety with LOOKS.... SantaFe interior is so sexy and 7 seats a bonus. I have two kids 4 and 6 so safety is a priority.

Also Qatar is one crazy country in terms of driving. More fatalities per year here than the rest of Gulf combined.
