    Default The Pakwheels.com Pictures of Pak Zabardast Jeep.

    I did not notice the new pictures of the Pakistani Zabardast Jeep on the Pakwheels new wheels gallery. It actually looks alot better than the pictures at Adam Motors web site. The paint job and closer looks shows the bold and tough design. It is certainly tougher than its main competition Suzuki Pothohar.

    What do you guys think of this...

    I was surprised to see an Araby country making any car much less a Jeep..

    They have all the money in the world but no ambitions at all to do any thing constructive. Mostly jut show off, putting high rise buildings in the desert of Arabia, but to see a jeep made in UAE, even if its a copy of US'a Hummer, its a step in positive direction towards self reliance.

    Its called Al-Dhabi. Sounds like Dhobi, laundry man, LoL... But its all good.

    I personally do not know of any, but a cousin of mine has Defender/Landrovers. He takes them to Sulan na khoo, (translated in eng. Sultan's Well, LoL) in Pindi. They do a good body work there.

    My personal opinion is that, you can remove the hood, its too small, put a wider hood on it, and increase the distance between the head lights, those are way too narrow, it does not make it look agreesive. Replace the current rectangular head lamps with Round headlamps.

    On CJ-Wrangler in US, they introduced rectangular headlamps for 1990 model, I think, the popularity of wrangler went down. Then from 1997 till now, the Wrangler/CJ, comes with slightly larger Round headlamps again. Please you can raise it up a little, put the power wench bar, on front. Add Black color wider side moulds on fenders, makes it looks more muscular. and add a Heavy front grill if you like. Within 2 to 3 lakh budget you can improve this Jeep alot.

    I agree. I really would like to see the zabardast look more like the defender or g class. So first step would be to find an artist who can sketch out the details and then take it from there. Also would it be possilbe to increase the lenght ? there is hardly any room in the back. Or is that asking for too much? and perhaps i am better of starting from scratch with one of them body walas here in khi?

    Here in US, all the streched limousines are streched by Local Street Garage Mechanics. No factory in US makes Strech limos. The take, any large sedan, mostly Lincoln Town Car, Caddilac Deville, or even SUVs, and add parallel steel frames in the chasis. adjust the fuel lines, longer cam shaft for rear wheel drives. Add the sheet metal on the sides of the vehicle and add sun roof or more sheet metal. Add seats, carpet, re-paint the car and you are done.

    I think I have seen a picuture here at pakwheels, by a very talented mechanic, in Lahore I think, who streched an old Toyota Corona, 1970 model into a limousine.

    So, definately you can strech a car even in Pak, just need a little bit of strech of imagination, lol....rest will follo...

    Zabardast is Zabardast, just a little bit of touch of redesign and imagination is in need. I am sure, Pakistan has an abundance of creative thinker. Look at all the modified cars in Pakistan. It takes alot of imagination to modify and soup up a small car. Jeeps you are be a little bit rough with, but cars you have to be really careful with, as the design lines in car are very accurate.

    @sajid

    the parts for a defender are about the same price as those for a 2.0D corolla, so yeah the are reasonably high. Servicing is about the same as well. Though I should mention that they have started manufacturing (service) parts here now as well and they are about 1/6th the price.

    Rear seats have very little room, but you can refit another set of fronts to the rear and you'll love it. (looking for a 2nd set myself).

    The doors take a little getting used to but that's never really a problem for me as i tend to not use the ac. Make sure you get one with an A/c and power windows. I'll take a few snaps from inside and will post them up soon. (sorry I couldn't reply earlier, had a loss of DSL in the office)

    Even I'd have gone for the surf (much more relaxing to drive), but My work called for something more rugged and utilitarian so I went for a defender. That and the fact that I like to be different.

    Only buy a defender if you're really committed to having one for a long time, otherwise you'll want to sell it and you'll lose alot of money. I love my 110 but would love to have a surf on the side for the weekends,... maybe if i work REALLY hard for the rest of my life

    Sajjid, earlier you asked if there is any person who can improve the Front of the Zabdast Jeep. I think a new member has joined us at Pakwheels. Mr. Malik Tanveer. He does a great job in fabricating the Jeeps or any car with Firber glass body. FiberGlass is lighweight and strong, it is used by many automakers here in US where I am. Its usually used to enhance Fenders or Hood shape etc.

    You can contact Mr. Tanveer, his contact is on another Pakwheels discussion.
    Mr. Tanveer is an expert in fiberglass body work, design of any car, jeep you like.

    0300-4488186 or musatanveer@hotmail.com.

    Here is a sample of his work.

    Zabardast Jeep pictured is far better than the actual thing...or is it due to the skills of the photographer. The Z Jeep is good and cheap. You cannot buy a decent 4X4 in Pakistan for under lac. There are two major faults with Z. Jeep The second row of seats does not have a decent space for a adult and the front Head lights. If these were round the shape would have been much better.

    As far as Defender 90 and 110 are concerned are they still assembled in Pakistan? I think the fair value for a new 90 should be 15 lac and 110 20 lac(assembled in Pakistan)

    @datzburier
    Thats a pretty good idea.

    @Gemini
    There is plenty of room for improvement on the Zabardast Jeep, but for the price it's a reasonable alternative to a photohar.

    As for the Landrovers, they only just started producing them as CKD's from solihull (UK). I think the current prices for the 300TDi's are 18 (cabrio 90), 19 (hardtop 90) & 20 (110). If you want A/C & power windows,... that'd be another lac. And if you want it to look like mine,.... you would have to be mad Eventually Defenders will get cheaper as more and more parts will be locally manufactured.

    SURF ZINDABAD! Made up my decison. Have to go with a surf simply because you cant go wrong with it. Love the defender and if ever I come across a cheap one I will go for it. Changing the body styling on zabardast would probably be a "project" in itself and it does not make sense to by a 9lakh jeep and then spend another 3 lakh or more on it. Unless people at Adam motors can sell it just with the engine and the chasis at 3lakh..then perhaps it something to look into..

    Zabadast seems to be different from Chinese BJC. Two popular models of BJC (Beijing Jeep Corporation /company)are here. I personally have Grand CHerokee from BJC. It is V6 4500, 4x4. The same is used by Chine Highway Patrol. Will post the pictures of my jeep soon. But its a real fuel guzzeler. I will be replacing it with Hyundai model, as I am now qualifying for the employees discount.

    But now after seeing the two more closely, I understand that Zabardast and BJC are twins.
