what's the point of driving to peshawar? go to bilal gunj and get a used one. just remember that there is no guarantee that the one you find will be in any better condition than the one in you vehicle already.

bro we were also facing same problem with our prado's 1kz engine i.e long starting and less power. We did all the measures told by mechanics even we changed the pump (cost was 12000 with old pump, almost 3 months back in rawalpindi). But problem was in engine and atlast we changed engine at cost of 55000. First do confirm that problem is due to pump,if it is so then buy kabule 1,never go 4 repair..... now all is upto you.....

had a similar problem with my Prado. the only way out was to drive it to Peshawar and get the pump replaced with a Kabuli one. Problem with Bilal gunj is that they do not have many pumps in stock. most of the one i tried had the same problem......... in peshawar the stock is enormous. get to the hub and try it out. it will cost u around Rs 15000. they will take your back for Rs 2000. total 13,000. Trust me its worth trying.

Toyota guys cant be trusted.......no offence but i had a miserable time with them.......

    regards

Pic-up didnt change, it turned out that 1 of the vacums lines off wrongly attached .

    Now this...............

Every-1 has been telling me that the Engine is good.

Now I am not sure, 1c again.

Weak engine signs and this is with most toyota engines. Starting problem occurs with slight loss of compression and performance goes down with all engines if compression is not upto the mark. Pump will further damage the situation because newer pump will throw more fuel which engine would not burn effectively

Are your injectors in good condition? A friend of mine had a Surf that started lazily. Although in his case, he knew that it was the injectors that were due for replacement.

Get the injectors checked / replaced, it might be a cheaper fix.

    Sami....

mine in Diesel , it has nozzels not injectors., but i think it would be almost same issue. i just had the nozzels cleaned. Yes... the guy at Rex. lab. told me they probably need changing next time........ getting that done has really not made a great diff.

    So... whats next.

no great diff. on engine pick of starting really .

True, it's the nozzles that need to be changed and not the whole injector assembly. But keep in mind that you cannot clean injector nozzles. They are machined to very close tolerances and they have to be changed when the time comes for it.

A crucial question, have you noticed a change in fuel consumption? That might explain a bit too. Have you done some off-roading? Do you think you could have crushed your exhaust pipe a bit? These may seem like stupid questions, but better to try something cheap and then go for the expensive solutions.

fuel consumption........... is really bad .

    I MEAN REALLY BAD!!!!

But I will hav the exhaust pipe checked also.

Some memebers hae said it might be my engine going weak.

but i had that checked by many mech. , every-1 has told me its fine.

Has anyone got an OBD tool to scan the 1KZ ECU for errors? If the pump is going out, the ECU should throw up some error codes. On the other hand, I don't even know if it measures the Injection pressure at all to be honest.
